Two dads discussing baby loss, coping with life, and working their way through grief. In the aftermath of losing babies, Liam and Matt found there was no support specifically aimed at dads to help them process their grief, prepare for what was to come next, and help them to support their partners. So, they've teamed up to create this podcast for other dads (and families) which shows a bereaved father's perspective and provides the tools to help them on their journey with grief.

Grieving together and apart; the differences between mums and dads

Grieving together and apart; the differences between mums and dads

One of the most challenging aspects of losing a child is the strain it puts on your partner, relationship, and family.  In this episode, Matt and Liam discuss their experiences of how mums and dads grieve in different ways.
It is a theme that comes up often and a subject that has been mentioned in almost all of the messages the podcast has received.
Frequently, dads reach out to us because they feel they are grieving differently from their partners. And often mums have emailed the show because they don't understand the reaction of their partners.
Ultimately grief is a personal emotional response and in the episode, Matt and Liam delve deeper into why we can grieve so differently from those around us who have experienced the same tragedy.

A Huge Help

As a recently bereaved father whose daughter was born sleeping this summer, I’ve found this podcast a huge help. A lot of the support and information out there is for women, for obvious reasons, and their partners are unusually mentioned in terms like “being strong” and “had to return to work”. So little actually talks about what it is like for us to try and do those things, to try and carry on.

Listening to Liam and Matt helped me understand that I wasn’t alone, that they’re other Dads out there experiencing or have experienced the same things that I’ve felt and while this right now seems impossible, my grief might someday be less all encompassing.

Keep up the great work lads, Cheers

Brilliant podcast!!

There is a huge amount of valuable information packed into this podcast for dad’s who have suffered losses. Thank you for sharing and being so open about what must have been an incredibly traumatic experience. I found it interesting to learn that men and women grieve in different ways at different times and how this can put a strain on the relationship. Keep them coming!

Keep going!

1 podcast down and I’m hooked! Grief, mental health, men, pregnancy and baby loss. Whether you are able to talk, or not, this is worth a listen! I need to support the men in my life and in doing that I need to listen and provide a forum and environment for them to speak ... well done to you both! Am ready for the next episodes!
