Upskilling Leaders and Managers: Episode 2 - Getting Personal

Are you ready for our next podcast episode? We’ve had some great feedback about our first episode of the Upskilling Leaders and Managers podcast, but this one, in our opinion, is EVEN BETTER. That’s largely due to our amazing special guest; Emma Marie Davies, an L&D Consultant and founder of EMD Inspire. She joins Tom Moore, our COO, and Tom McDowall, our Head of Learning Design to get personal about management and leadership.   Emma is an L&D Consultant and founder of EMD Inspire, a UK-based people development company with a proven reputation for delivering development which is both engaging and motivating; and inspires real change in people and workplaces. Her background in retail, telecommunications, M&D and health care alongside Operational Leadership and Management ensures she’s able to put your people and business at the heart of your development solution.   Episode 2 has the panel discussing the fascinating (and vital) subject of getting personal in leadership. The vague-sounding title belies a plethora of interesting sub-topics, which include examples of great (and poor) management and leadership, as well as the difference between doing the job and managing others into doing the job.    Plus, conversations around managing upwards, taking ownership and accountability, and whether there is a truth behind people leaving bad managers rather than bad jobs… And obviously, many other interesting subjects are discussed too, but we’d rather let you discover those on your own. Who doesn’t love surprises, after all?

Hybrid 101: Episode 5 - Changing Our Approach to L&D

In our final episode, Gemma Glover is joined by Tom Moore, COO of iAM Learning; Phill Lord-David, Head of L&D and User Experience; and Tom McDowall, Senior Instructional Designer as they discuss how best to approach learning and development in the new hybrid working world. During the session we explain why you should take your learning strategy back to the drawing board and how you can adapt your learning solutions to suit your learners. It’s no longer a case of just debating digital vs face to face learning.
