SPECIAL Live Crossover Show: Rewriting Foundation Board Rules with Katie Carter and Carol Cheney

We teamed up with Break Fake Rules, Stupski Foundation’s podcast on changing Big Giving for good, for a special episode on fake board rules. Filmed live at PNW26 in Anchorage, Alaska, hosts Glen Galaich and Mares Asfaha welcome surprise guests Carol Cheney, CEO of The Collins Foundation, and Katie Carter, CEO of Pride Foundation to share how their foundations are reshaping what governance looks like.   Tune in for a behind the scenes look at Pride Foundation’s exploration of liberatory governance, which, as Katie says, is like asking, “what are all the fake rules that boards have that we could start breaking?” You’ll also hear an honest conversation on how The Collins Foundation has been grappling with the idea of legacy.  Along the way they address other hot topics like grant approvals, payout rates, risk and more.  Audience members also had a chance to chime in on the fake board rules they experience at their organizations using a Mentimeter poll. It turns out, there are many fake board rules that our sector is hungry to break!
