Cancer, Psychedelics and a (BIG) surprise! 🍄

My oldest friend Alix Kirshner joins me for one of the realest conversations we've ever had on this show We go allllll the way back, through the loss of her sister Remy, addiction, a cancer diagnosis, and the winding path that led her to become a psychedelic guide and founder of Higher Healing. We get into what it’s actually like to go on a psychedelic healing journey. Then, the tables turn with yours truly becoming the case study! Sharing behind the curtains of what it’s like to have Alix guide me through my own psilocybin journey and everything that came up after. Why a New City and New Job Won't "Fix You" (And How to Become Who You're Meant to Be)

Have you ever tried to upgrade your identity but feel like it never sticks? In this episode I sat down with identity transformation coach Mikayla Chisholm for a conversation that goes deep, fast. We get into why new jobs, new cities, and new relationships never actually fix the thing, why your results can only grow to the size of the identity holding them, and Mikayla’s framework for spotting the exact moment you start sliding back into old patterns. It’s part personal story, part practical toolkit, and it might just reframe how you think about your next big pivot. Mikayla traces her own pattern of starting strong and then getting bored, back to a painful root, and unpacks the framework she now teaches to help people actually hold their breakthroughs instead of quietly sliding back down. Note: this episode includes a brief, honest mention of a parent’s suicide. Mikayla shares it with care, but wanted to flag it for anyone who needs it. What next? If this conversation hit something in you, that’s your sign. Hit subscribe so you never miss an episode Leave a review, it genuinely helps this show reach more women going through their own version of this exact thing. Screenshot your review and send it my way on Instagram, you’ll be entered into our monthly fifty dollar giveaway! Who is Mikayla? How Katie Pivoted From Healthcare Management To Being A Luxury Wedding Planner

So excited to introduce you to Katie - one of my first clients!!! We worked together over the last couple years both in 1:1 and group settings and now she has become a good friend of mine. What I love so much about her story is that she was able to take her skills and experience in healthcare management and pivot it to doing something she loves and is passionate about 😉 I get this question a lot from people around “how do I make a pivot or change” and I think Katie’s story is such a powerful example of redefining what success means to you and going on to create success on your own terms. Two and a half years ago, Katie was ten years into a stable, well paid health tech career that checked every box except the one that mattered: passion. In this episode, Katie and I unpack her path from burnout and indecision to founder of Logan Planning Solutions, a luxury micro wedding and elopement planning business built entirely on her own terms! We talk about the moment she knew it was time to leave (a five year program offer that made her want to run the other way), the pressure to have the whole plan figured out before taking a single step, and how she finally gave herself permission to explore without knowing exactly where it would lead. Katie walks through the messy middle of trying on different paths (a dog sanctuary, landscape design, general event planning) before niching all the way down to micro weddings, then repositioning into luxury work once she trusted her own instincts over what she thought a career was supposed to look like. If you’re in the middle of a career pivot, wondering whether you have to have it all figured out before you make a move, or trying to design your life around what actually lights you up instead of what looks good on paper, this conversation is for you! Katie’s story is proof that following your intuition, one messy step at a time, is enough. We Cover: * The “golden egg” pressure of needing the next step to be perfect before you’ll take it * Leaving a stable, well paid career that had zero passion behind it * The stepping stone metaphor, and giving herself permission not to have it all figured out * Work life balance versus work life integration * Niching down from general event planning to micro weddings * The mindset shift behind repositioning to luxury clients * Growing an Instagram following by showing up as her real, unpolished self * Her advice to her younger self The Timestamps: * 00:00 — Welcome and intro to Katie Logan * 00:39 — Life then vs. now: two and a half years of change * 05:19 — The moment she knew it was time to leave * 11:42 — How Sarah and Katie first connected * 15:24 — Moving from 9 to 5 into entrepreneurship * 16:51 — Work life balance vs. work life integration * 21:38 — The “golden egg” and the stepping stone metaphor * 26:40 — Exploring paths: the dog sanctuary, landscape design, and more * 33:12 — Learning to niche down * 36:26 — Landing on micro weddings, and why * 44:06 — The mindset shift behind going luxury * 48:06 — Growing an authentic Instagram following * 51:19 — Advice to her younger self * 52:06 — Where to find Katie Where To Find Katie: Katie is on Instagram at @loganplanningsolutions, where she shares behind the scenes looks at her luxury micro wedding and elopement design work, along with links to her website if you're planning a wedding, a honeymoon, or just want to say hi. The Messy Middle: Identity Crises, Career Pivots and Life After Corporate with Becky Evans (Part 1)

Have you ever looked at your life from the outside and thought - I have everything I’m supposed to want, so why does something still feel off? That’s exactly what this episode is about. This week I’m bringing on someone who has walked alongside me at every single step of this journey - my biz bestie, biz partner, and one of my favorite humans, Becky Evans. Becky is an embodiment mentor for female entrepreneurs who have done the therapy, done the mindset work, and are ready to stop frying their nervous system in business so they can actually enjoy what they’ve built. She’s a former investment bank VP and her story will resonate with anyone who has ever chased a goal, achieved it, and still felt empty on the other side. In this episode we’re getting into all of it - what it actually looks like to feel successful on the outside and completely numb on the inside, the real difference between coaching and therapy and when you need both, how to step into a new identity when you’re in the middle of a career change and it still feels awkward, the valley of despair that shows up in every single pivot, and why we always choose the familiar hell over a new heaven. Oh, and we coined a term you won’t forget: cosplaying a career change. If you’re in the middle of a career pivot, thinking about starting a business, or just feel like something needs to change but you can’t quite name it yet; this one’s for you. Sarah & Becky at our own mini mastermind/ workaction at Becky’s home in Scotland! 👉 Learn more about Becky on IG: @Empoweredbybecky ; and reach sarah at @sarahfcsinger 👉 Learn more about Embodied Mastermind at sarahsinger.co or message us on IG with the word “EMBODY” IN THIS EPISODE: 0:00 Where Becky was three years ago vs. where she is now 1:18 What it actually feels like to be successful on the outside and numb on the inside 3:23 Symptoms of society — imposter syndrome, fight or flight, burnout — and why it’s not your fault 4:51 What this work actually unlocks (this part will give you chills) 8:02 How Becky went from finance VP to embodiment mentor and why the path was anything but linear 10:39 The moment she knew something had to change 13:24 Why she invested in a coach before she felt ready and what her partner said that lit the fire 17:29 Coaching vs. therapy — when you need each one and why you might need both 20:43 The identity struggle that comes with every career change and every new label 23:15 How to actually embody a new identity when it still feels awkward to say out loud 27:28 Are you cosplaying a career change? 30:51 Spiritual role play — how to try on a new version of yourself before you feel ready 35:18 Letting go of the pressure to have it all figured out 37:16 The Valley of Despair and the pattern that shows up in every single career pivot 39:28 Why we always choose the familiar hell over the new heaven and how to break through it Stay tuned for Part 2 coming soon!
