I’m on episode 174, and I just interrupted it to write this review because I just heard Merlin talking about putting ice in his daughter’s water bottle. I have a system in my workplaces that I imagine everyone else thinks is strange. I have 1.5 litre bottles of water in different freezers, angled just right on a bag of peas or a box of haddocks so the ice doesn’t interfere with opening the cap, but so one half of the bottle is ice (bigger surface area) so tomorrow I can add water to it, and it will be ice cold for my shift. This is a big deal and a quite involved daily process for me. Freeze half your bottle of water, people!
If I ever gain a daughter
and send her off to school
I’d worry not ‘bout bullies
but that her water’s cool.
She’d learn from careful teaching
Delivered patiently
That water and its better self
Are best as friends can be.
I hope that water doesn’t care
What’s happening to its bones.
When they start to creak and crack
