This was a really interesting series with insightful accounts and discussions of different types of crime and criminality by the two clearly very informed hosts plus a variety of really interesting guests. The professor has a manner of speaking that takes some getting used to, but I rather liked it after a few episodes! Hope it returns with more soon.
Very low level

Not much analysis beyond their initial reaction to any of the subjects. Loads of hype and self-reference, but no concrete research. Emilia Fox is allowed a few stilted questions, as if she’s fulfilling the role of a not-very-bright listener, and David Wilson sounds like he’s shouting down a bad telephone line at someone he thinks is really stupid. He even derides his audience several times - saying they’ll want easier answers or will be dissatisfied with nuance. Frankly, I’d have loved more nuance, and more push back on facile answers from some of the interviewees.
Mostly positive

I do like this podcast. I recommend it to my students but the latest one about university route not being suitable for those joining the police wasnt challenged. For many young people I teach the apprenticeship is their first experience of Uni/work life which is amazing. Annoyed at the episode as there are many many wrongs uns the police (Carey Report note this) who didn’t go through Uni so can justify it that way. The police are being offered fresh, ambitious Uni graduates and this episodes dismissed them. I had to turn it off
Terrible

Not quite as bad as their fake tv programme but nearly.
