Found this wonderful podcast when searching for something about Wallis Simpson. After years of listening to True Crime this has been such a great listen & refreshing approach to our wonderful history. I’ve gone right back to the start, really enjoyed it. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know. Can’t wait for what’s to come next.

Interesting thou I stopped listening as pretty much every episode has a small dose of misogyny. Example: maybe Romans never had a female leader because of their inferiority said with laughter in episode mentioning fall of Budica and their daughters’ slaughter. Otherwise interesting and entertaining.

Great podcast, I am really loving it. Didn’t know nearly enough about all the consorts. As I am working backwards from Wallis I shall probably die of old age before I find myself among the Anglo Saxons. Albert was really good but you might have mentioned what a ghastly parent he was to Bertie. No insight or empathy for a child who was different from him, and that curriculum would have driven any normal kid mad. Also you are too hard on Vict. She hated being pregnant, loathed childbirth and didn’t really love babies that much. No wonder once she had recovered from Precious Papa’s death she took to monarching with renewed vigour. One niggle: you have lots of German names to pronounce. 5 seconds on Google gave me the pronunciation of Celle (it’s sel). And Leibniz didn’t need to be thrown under the bus either. Are you being manly or something? Or just lazy? Lovely show anyway. Xx
