Scarred for Life

I stumbled on this podcast by accident and found my people. I didn’t realise that there was a community of people whose minds are polluted by cultural horrors from the 70s and 80s. It feels niche so it won’t have massive following but for those who were exposed to the odd horrors in the pop culture of our childhoods. For me:Appointment With Fear, The Haunting and some odd snatches of TV dramas that I can’t put a name to.

Really good podcast with very likeable hosts. A real nostalgia trip & many of the scars are mine growing up in the 70s & 80s. I’ve ended up buying both books looking forward to them. Woman in black Salem’s lot Ghosts of Clifton hall The landlady The omen ! There you go.

For those of a certain age, this is pure nostalgic fun looking back at the weird and wonderful subculture of the 1970s. I enjoy the relaxed, sitting in the pub style of chat and reminisces. The only gripe I would have is that it can be a bit repetitive- if Threads or the rabies public information film comes up again I’ll scream, but other than that it’s a great listen
