    23. Medical Herbalist & Trainee Shaman Wendy Dooner

In this weeks episode I have a wonderful conversation with Wendy Dooner of the Dundee Herbal Clinic (she is also my sister).
We have both had interesting journeys and I thought my listeners would be inspired by Wendy's journey. How she navigated a few difficult life transitions. And how she found her spiritual heart with Shamanism…. Eventually!
    The topics we cover:
    >> Wendy’s life in Australia (pre shamanism) and how she found what I do a little bit strange...
    >>> How shamanism saved Wendy's marriage.
    >>> What we both love about Shamanism and how it’s so relevant on our lives.
    >>> How after finding Shamanism, Wendy now works with Plant Medicine in a completely new way.

    20. The No.1 Challenge & identifying the limiting beliefs that stop you in your tracks

    20. The No.1 Challenge & identifying the limiting beliefs that stop you in your tracks

    What is the no.1 challenge?

It might not be quite what you think!

Today’s podcast is all about YOU.

Particularly over the past year because I’ve been making a habit of putting myself first, instead of dropping everything and tending to everyone else’s needs.

So, what is the issue here? When I say to people – make yourself your NO.1 priority the walls come up folks! Yep… like big fat walls! My students will say ‘but I have kids, elderly parents, husband/wife, career, difficult boss etc. etc.’

And I say, there is NEVER a good enough excuse not to put yourself first. EVER.

So schedule in TIME FOR YOU. Put in your diary and make it a non-negotiable item in your calendar. If it’s not in the diary you will forget.

Here are some of the key points I cover:

    >>>The 5 self-limiting beliefs you hold that put you off!

    >>> Remember it’s okay to ask for help.

    >>> Saying NO (yes, I know you’ve heard it before!)

    >>> Top Tips for looking after yourself even if you can’t leave the house.

    >>> Shamanic Journey ideas for supporting your quest to become your own No.1 priority

Here are the links & lists I mentioned during the podcast:

If you’re keen to deep dive into your self-limiting beliefs and release those then Shamanic practise is a great way to do that – hop over to learn.centreforshamanism.com for all the juicy details!
Those top tips I promised if you struggle to go outside or meet people:

Listen to an uplifting podcast (like this one!)
Give the mobile phone a break
    Do some exercise
Learn a new technique like breathing exercises for anxiety
Use a mindfulness app like headspace.
    EAT WELL
    DRINK WATER
Check in with your overall health and see a herbalist or nutritionist to support your physical well being

In whatever way you’re avoiding making yourself no.1, there are always ways to work towards this ideal state. Check out podcast episode 17 on Boundaries, that’s a super helpful Podcast and goes really well with this podcast.

Shamanic Journey ideas for working as your own No.1

Ask to be taken on a journey and shown the energetic benefits of putting yourself first

Go with your Guide to the Temple of Self-Worth in the Middle realm and ask to be given a healing to help you make yourself your No.1 priority.

Don’t forget that you might not see anything in your journeys and our messages come in metaphor.

If you've never Journeyed before and would like to learn how. Or if you know a little but would like to expand your knowledge then our Introduction to Shamanism course may be just what you're looking for.

    18. Spiritual Momentum & Zero Days

    18. Spiritual Momentum & Zero Days

The thing I hear a lot from my clients is 'Rhonda, I'm not really focusing on my Shamanic work' or I just can't seem to get started.

We all suffer (at some point in our lives) from a lack of perceived momentum on our spiritual paths. This episode talks about ways to overcome and avoid momentum issues and it’s not as difficult as you think!

Some key things I cover in this episode:

My relationship with momentum and zero days

Easy ways to get started each day (for everyone whether you work with Shamanism or not!)

Ways to walk an intentional path with Shamanism

With a bit of self-reflection, maybe your Zero Days are Something Days after all!

Enlightening

Podcast 23

Thanks for this enlightening podcast of sisterhood and love. I enjoyed listening to your reflective journeys. How connecting through cycles of life and recognising the healing in all of it whatever path we choose it comes back to where we can respect each other's journey where we can sort of press a restart button-through accessing different keys presented to us if we choose to accept it. In this case the ancient practice of Shaminisn.

It's interesting the Wendy went to Australia, and you stayed in Scotland, there is so much in this story that demonstrates ancestral healing and so much more - it's so beautiful. When we find that thing that opens things up for us we want shout it from the roof tops don't we? And share it with everyone but its got to be the right time for others to take there own step into healing if ever.

When I was younger I was trying to find an explanation to the subtle energies I felt all my life - thinking I was odd I thought everyone heard spirits and connected the the Earth. Now of course I embrace these gifts. For me shamanism has helped me ground my own work and practice - working with light and spirit without the earth-based practice can leave you like a leaf in the wind to say the least. So, It's a call back to working with the natural world & cycles opening up to more understanding of the different worlds and how our guides work to support us fully on our path and work.

Much Love & blessings, Loraine x
