S9 E1: Eric Berne Memorial Award TAJ Article - Trudi Newton's Health System

S9 E1: Eric Berne Memorial Award TAJ Article - Trudi Newton's Health System

This episode is the first audio version of the Eric Berne Memorial articles from the Transactional Analysis Journal. We plan to publish two a year as part of our sponsorship agreement.
Trudi Newton received the 2023 Eric Berne Memorial Award for her work in establishing a new metaperspective that reframes transactional analysis as positive psychology. The article cited in the nomination, which you are about to hear, read by Trudi herself, is “The Health System: Metaphor and Meaning” from the July 2007 Transactional Analysis Journal.
Trudi’s paper is an exhortation to all of us to engage in a kind of ongoing, ground-breaking process of theoretical evolution through practice, reflecting the spirit of the early pioneers in TA theory.
You can view the diagrams that Trudi references on our website by clicking the link below:

    S8 E1: COVID-19 Panel Discussion Part I

    S8 E1: COVID-19 Panel Discussion Part I

In this special edition episode, we have changed things up a bit! Rather than having 3 of us in your head, there’s going to be 7 of us!!! We have facilitated a very timely panel discussion on what TA might have to say about the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The panel is made up of Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analysts across the four fields of application in TA. We have Anna Chandy (C), Trudi Newton (E), Adrienne Lee (P), Thorsten Geck (O) and Giles Barrow (E) who will be representing the emerging approach of Ecological TA.
After a brief introduction, our guest's discussion builds into a rich and inspiring response to the current pandemic.
Not wanting to edit any nuggets of wisdom out, we have decided to publish it in its entirety across two separate episodes.

Inspiring

I came across this by chance & quickly felt grabbed by Matt & John’s enthusiasm and fascinating discussions. As someone who’s been in TA therapy, and now done the 101, this felt like coming home and has inspired me to learn more about TA. Thank you both.
