Mentorship & Hierarchy in Coaching: A Conversation with Judith Gaton

Mentorship & Hierarchy in Coaching: A Conversation with Judith Gaton

When you have goals and aspirations it’s normal to look for someone that can help you reach them. Having a mentor to help guide you can be a great thing. But sometimes as mentees, we put our mentors up on a pedestal. And when we believe our mentors —and not ourselves — have the answer to our success, we strip ourselves of our own authority and power. The same thing goes for coaches.

Tune in to learn how to take the hierarchy out of your mentor and coaching relationships and how the most important mentorship relationship is the one you have with yourself.

Cultivating a CEO Mindset and Debunking Entrepreneurship Myths: A Conversation with Amy Porterfield

Whether we’re at the top of a corporation, running our own business, or working as an employee, we’ll often find a million different ways to outsource our leadership to others. But if we can do the hard work of learning to trust ourselves as the ultimate authority over our own lives, that’s where the magic happens.

Tune is as we dismantle some of the myths about starting your own business and discuss developing a CEO mindset, how socialization affects female entrepreneurs in particular, and the biggest mistake Amy made in her first year of business (so you can avoid it too - whether you have a business or not).

Three Ways Judaism Has Shaped My Work in the World

Three Ways Judaism Has Shaped My Work in the World

I am Jewish, but I don’t consider myself to be particularly religious or spiritual. I know that may seem strange or like there’s a disconnect there, but Judaism is more than just a religion. So it doesn’t fit into the westernized ideal of what a religion is or should look like. This week on the podcast I share three ways Judaism has shaped my work in the world and I take a look at how the things that you learn as part of being in a religious community or any other kind of community impact how you think about the world.

Ghastly “chicken”

I do appreciate the message she is sending in general but purely on not wanting to be her “chicken “, I am out.

“People with ovaries”

Guests refer to women as “people with ovaries and eggs”. The host refers to women as “people who were socialised as women”. It is wearying to have the existence of women as a class denied like this. But put this to the side and there is a lot to learn.
