Hosted by celebrated criminal justice reform advocate and founding board member of the Innocence Project Jason Flom, Pulitzer prize-winning podcast host and producer Maggie Freleng, and Emmy Award-winning writer, producer, and podcast host Lauren Bright Pacheco, Wrongful Conviction features intimate conversations with men and women who have spent years in prison for crimes they maintain they did not commit. Some have been fully exonerated and reunited with family and friends while others continue to languish, with some even facing execution on death row. Each episode peels back the layers behind the stories of those who have found themselves caught in a legal system gone wrong, with illuminating insights from lawyers and leading experts sharing their in-depth knowledge about each case, from prison visits and courtroom battles to reexamined crime scenes and witness interviews. This gripping series reveals the tragedy of injustice…as well as the triumph that is possible when people step up and demand change.

I am horrified

How many poor cheated souls could there be? How many? If a plane came down with that many souls on board, it would shut down the whole system. Some are 16!
So many adverts

I’m sure the show is great but feels like it’s constantly interrupted with particularly grating and repetitive adverts so I find it unlistenable.
This podcast blows my mind every time

I came by this podcast after listening to Bone Valley, by Gilbert King. That podcast, along with this one are both utterly devastating and enlightening at the same time. Jason Flom - wonderful, wonderful host. My only feedback would be - offer an ad free patreon subscription!! #fundraiser - I would sign up in a heartbeat. The ads on this podcast drive me nuts. Sometimes they begin when the exoneree is half way through a sentence.
It can happen to anyone

The takeaway message that sticks with me from all people sharing their stories of injustice, is it can happen to anyone. There are some stories that I can’t forget like that of Vincent Simmons. 44 years and most of that time in solitary.
