Founder of the Contextual Psychology Institute in Montreal, Schoendorff explains how the identities we inherit from history and society can limit us — and how the work of dismantling them is fundamentally anti-colonial. Drawing on relational frame theory, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and process-based behavior therapy, he makes the case for a new "liberation psychology" rooted in science. Along the way, he shares his personal journey: becoming an anti-imperialist at age ten, visiting Beirut and the Sabra and Shatila camps in 1981, his Oxford years (including knowing a young Keir Starmer), and why he finally decided to speak out publicly.
