TANIS

Tanis is one of those Podcasts that gets the balance just right. A skill that is quite rare and much appreciated by the discerning listener. I tend to listen to podcasts because my eyes are too tired for reading just before sleep and I don’t want TV at that time as it’s too full on before sleep. For me then the perfect Podcast is one which is stimulating and enthralling whilst still maintaining a sonic envelope which is familiar and hypnotic. Tanis achieves this balance perfectly whilst delivering storylines which remind me of some of the best X-Files episodes. I also enjoyed The Last Movie, Rabbits and of course the show that brought many of the listeners to Tanis; The Black Tapes. The group of people making these podcasts have changed things up a gear and made contemporary podcasting into something exciting...I find myself checking my app to see if the next episode is available, impatient for the next update to the world of Tanis.

A great story told excellently

A truly great show, im binging mad on it.

I have to say I’m somewhat disappointed by Tanis. It is difficult not to compare it to TBT’s which I found to be more compelling and entertaining. Dr. Strand is sorely missed; you could listen to that character’s voice all day. I like Nic well enough but prefer Alex as a narrator. Also, the lack of crossover story between Tanis and TBT’s is disappointing considering the timing of both storylines. Missed potential there I think. The story is still good and it’s well worth a listen all the same.
