Redistricting is Scrambling Upcoming Primaries: Here's What You Need to Know.

Amy, Jessica, Erin and Matthew join the Roundtable this week. We are about to hit a busy primary stretch here in May and early June. On Tuesday, May 19th, there’s voting in Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. But first up, this Saturday we have a primary in Louisiana where Republican incumbent Senator Bill Cassidy is hoping to make it into the runoff with one of his two opponents. The team discusses what to watch for in Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia - and how redistricting, as a result of the Supreme Court’s decision on the Voting Rights Act, is scrambling the upcoming elections. With Platner In, The Battle For One Of The Most Important Races In The Senate Begins

Amy, Carrie and Jessica join the Roundtable this week to discuss what they’re watching for in the Maine Senate race, which will be one of the most important in 2026. Gov. Janet Mills dropped her bid last week, clearing the way for her primary opponent Graham Platner to run as the Democratic candidate. Platner will try and defeat Republican Sen. Susan Collins, something Democrats have been trying to do for time in memoriam. Mills dropping out is a blow to Sen. Chuck Schumer, who recruited the governor into that race. But Mills was trailing Platner and set up to lose that primary handily. Jessica Taylor goes live on Substack on Thursday, May 7 at 1pm to discuss the battle for the Senate. This is part of our monthly Ask An Expert series and available to our paid Substack subscribers. Paid Substack subscribers also receive Editors Roundtable every week. Tune in to that Substack Live with Jessica here: https://open.substack.com/live-stream/18550
