The Tale of Genji'' is a Japanese novel written in the middle of the Heian period. It first appeared in literature in 1008 (Kanko 5). The author is Murasaki Shikibu. Through the protagonist Hikaru Genji, the story depicts the aristocratic society of the Heian period, including love, glory and fall, political desire and power struggles.
Akiko Yosano, a passionate female poet, bravely worked on a modern translation in 1902, when there were no reference books, with the goal of completing the translation in 100 months.

男の声は検討の余地あり
さすが沼尾さんだけあって、安心して聴けます。ただ男のセリフの裏声が強すぎて、興を削ぐことも否めません。また原作内の語調を誤認して読む箇所がそれなりにあり、それも気になりました。裏声を使うとみんな老人のようになってしまい、かえって感情移入を妨げるので、もう少しキャラ立ちを抑えた読み方の方がさらに聴きやすくなる気がしました。
いつも楽しみに聴いています
朗読を聴く楽しみが増えました。有難うございます。
お願いとして、毎回の朗読時間を半時間程度に収めていただくことはできませんか。前編と後編に分けることでも構いませんので。
