Tour Catch-Up: Serena's back as Berrettini + Hurkacz warm-up to Wimbledon; Medvedev's RAGE; Barty's Centre Court replacement
In the latest episode of Tennis Weekly, Joel and Kim roundup the past week on grass, which saw Matteo Berrettini successfully defend his Queen’s Club Title, Beatriz Haddad Maia making it two titles from two on the grass and Serena Williams announce her return to the game in time for SW19.
With Hubert Hurkacz putting himself forward as a contender for Wimbledon with victory in Halle, and another title for Ons Jabeur in the build up to a Slam, things are hotting up nicely for The Championships just around the corner.
Joel and Kim assess the varying fortunes of British players so far on grass, debate who should open the Ladies Singles at Wimbledon in Barty’s absence, and reflect on the dangers of an unseeded Nick Kyrgios in the draw next week.
Kim also tests Joel with a new Mysterious Player (niche knowledge required!) and they also discuss news from the US Open that Russians WILL be allowed to play.

In the latest episode of Tennis Weekly, Joel and Kim catch up on the grass court season so far, which saw a dream week for Dutch Wildcard Tim Van Rijthoven winning at home in S’Hertogenbosch and a maiden title for Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia in Nottingham.

Joel also tests Kim with a Queen’s Club focused Par for The Courts ahead of the tournament starting, and they discuss the latest news that Glasgow will host the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in November and that ATP Masters events are about to change from 2023.

Important Announcement - Welcome to Tennis Weekly!
Hello! Important announcement from HQ - we've rebranded! The podcast is moving forward and into a new era. From this day on, we will be known as Tennis Weekly to our listeners.
Joel and Kim aren't going anywhere and none of our four series including The Tour Catch-Up, Grand Slam Round-by-Rounds, Meets... and Book Club will be either.
'The Passing Shot' will also be sticking around but under a new identity - as 'Passing Shot Productions'.
For listeners wondering what this all means for them... Nothing changes in terms of subscribing and following us. All the changes are from our side so will automatically update in your feed.
Listen on to hear a bit more about how we arrived at the decision and thank you to everyone who has supported us up to this point and into this exciting new era for the show!
- Joel & Kim
P.S. Please bear with us as we make this transition over the next few weeks across all our channels.
