How to Build a Million-Dollar Portfolio Starting From Nothing | Graham Stephan

Graham Stephan was relentless about one thing before he had anything else: not spending money he did not have to spend. He calculated the gas cost of visiting a friend and decided it was not worth it. Most people would call that extreme. He calls it the foundation. The habits he built early, consistency, focus, and ruthless saving, did not feel heroic in the moment. They felt boring. But boring done every single day is what compounded into real estate commissions, YouTube income, and an investment portfolio split evenly between property, index funds, and cash. What he did not do was wait until he felt ready. He held off on starting his YouTube channel for years because he did not have a Lamborghini like the other guys. When he finally started, none of that mattered. The deeper conversation here is about what money actually means once you have enough of it. Graham is not chasing a bigger number. He wants to buy back his time, to read a book on a Tuesday if he feels like it. That shift from accumulation to freedom is where this episode gets genuinely interesting. Graham on YouTube Graham’s website Graham on Instagram In this episode you will: Discover the three specific habits Graham used to go from nothing to his first million and why saving was the most underrated one Learn how he structures his investments today across real estate, index funds, and cash, and the simple daily routine he uses to stay consistent Understand why waiting until you feel credible is the trap that keeps most people from ever starting Rethink what you believe about renting versus buying a home and when each choice actually makes financial sense Shift how you think about the end goal of building wealth, from hitting a number to designing a life that gives you your time back For more information go to https://lewishowes.com/1925 For more Greatness text PODCAST to +1 (614) 350-3960 Follow The Daily Motivation for essential highlights from The School of Greatness More SOG episodes we think you’ll love: Lewis Howes Solo [From $0-1M in 2026] Glennda Baker Dave Ramsey Get more from Lewis!  Get my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy! Nicole LePera: "Your nervous system is screaming at you!" Healing anxiety and panic

Were you praised as a child for being ‘good’, for keeping quiet, or not making a fuss? Psychologist Dr Nicole LePera reckons that praise may have taught you to disconnect from your emotions entirely. In this chat with Fearne, Nicole explains how even well-intentioned parenting can leave us with patterns that run our adult lives on autopilot. She talks through the practical process of reparenting your inner child, starting with something as simple as finding a childhood photograph. We hold our emotions in our bodies, so she also shares ways to tune in with your body throughout the day to release stress. Nicole also explains why your nervous system keeps you stuck in familiar patterns even when you logically know better, and why shame, people pleasing, and perfectionism are all protective strategies we developed to survive childhood. Plus, why does healing require what Nicole calls a return to ‘radical honesty’? Nicole’s book, Reparenting the Inner Child, is out now. From Flight to Fight - The Truth About Reactive Abuse

Share your comments with Marcia You tried to communicate. You tried therapy. You tried being vulnerable. You tried leaving the room. You tried silence. And when nothing else worked, you fought back. You yelled. You said cruel things. Maybe you even got physical. And now you're carrying shame because you think that makes you just as bad as them. It doesn't. In this episode, we're talking about reactive abuse - the thing that keeps survivors stuck in guilt for years, often even after they leave. It's the moments you're not proud of. The times you snapped after being pushed past your breaking point. The reactions the narcissist weaponized against you to prove YOU were the problem. Here's what you need to understand: Reactive abuse isn't you being abusive. It's you finally going into fight mode after flight stopped working. It's your nervous system saying "I give up trying to survive any other way." And the narcissist baited you into it on purpose because they needed you to react. Your reaction validated their narrative, gave them ammunition, made you doubt yourself, and kept you trapped trying to prove you weren't crazy. I'm sharing my own experiences with reactive abuse in my 30-year marriage - the aggression, the affair, the shame spiral that kept me compliant for years. Because I want you to understand that if a licensed therapist with over 23 years of clinical experience can fall into this pattern, you are not alone. And you are not the problem. We break down: What reactive abuse actually is and why it happensThe narcissist's strategy and why they NEED you to reactHow to recognize when you've been baitedThe difference between reactive abuse and actual abuseHow to break the cycle and stop taking the baitWhy you need to forgive yourself and release the shameIf you've ever wondered if you're the narcissist, if you've been called abusive for how you responded to being abused, if you're carrying guilt about moments you wish you could take back - this episode is for you. Stop punishing yourself for being human under inhumane conditions. Your reactions were survival. Now it's time to heal. Stop Saying Yes When You Want to Say No (Use This Simple Daily Practice to Set Boundaries Without Guilt)

Peace is something we often treat like a destination, something we’ll finally reach once life quiets down, problems fade, and everything feels under control. In this episode, Jay challenges that idea. Peace isn’t something you arrive at, it’s something you build in real time. It’s the ability to stay grounded, even when life isn’t. He explains how peace rarely disappears in one dramatic moment. It fades gradually through small compromises, unspoken truths, tolerated behaviors, and the quiet ways we begin to lose ourselves just to keep everything else running. Over time, those choices add up, leaving us feeling drained without always understanding why. Jay invites us to take a closer look at the hidden cost of your relationships, your work, and even your own thinking. From the emotional weight you carry for others to how tightly your identity is tied to being productive, he shows that a lot of your exhaustion is not just about what you do, it is about what you are constantly holding together. Jay also challenges the idea that loyalty means sacrificing yourself, encouraging a more honest look at the people and patterns in your life. Real peace, as he explains, comes from clarity. It requires the willingness to see things as they are, not just how you wish they were. In this episode you'll learn: How to Identify What’s Draining Your Energy How to Reduce Emotional Labor in Relationships How to Break Free from Family Roles That Exhaust You How to Separate Your Identity from Your Work How to Build Daily Habits That Restore Your Peace If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or quietly disconnected from yourself, know that it doesn’t have to stay that way. Peace isn’t something reserved for a different life or a future version of you, it’s something you can begin rebuilding right where you are. Multiple Felony Convictions, Arrests and a Body Changing Abscess become a Practicing Attorney with a Thriving Family, Marriage and Home Ownership with Sara Clark aka saraboo72!

Note from Jeannine: Hey, y'all! Today's episode originally aired in 2023 and it's one of my all time favorite episodes and I feel it deserves a revival! My friend, Sara Clark, grew up using very early with her dad and eventually her use developed into full blown addiction. Sara was arrested multiple times, including twice in one week! After finally getting sober, Sara returned to school, graduated AND completed law school and is now an attorney in Oklahoma. I absolutely love this woman, and I know you will too.
