Life Notes

Megan Marie

Life Notes is a voice-note–style podcast for thoughtful people in the middle of figuring things out about themselves, their relationships, and what really matters. Hosted by Megan Marie, Life Notes offers short, honest reflections that feel more like a voice memo to a friend than a performance. These are the things that don’t make it to Instagram. The unfiltered thoughts, soft questions, and little bits of clarity that show up while brushing your teeth, walking to the coffee shop, or sitting in the sun. It’s for the ones who feel deeply, who overthink everything, who are learning to trust themselves again. For the ones outgrowing old versions of themselves and soft-launching new ones. For anyone craving a moment of quiet honesty in a loud world. There’s no theme music or polished advice. It's just a place to slow down and listen in. Always raw and always real.

  1. #27 How to Support Yourself When You’re Doing It Alone

#27 How to Support Yourself When You’re Doing It Alone

This episode is about what it actually looks like to support yourself when you’re doing really big things alone. Not just enjoying solitude or choosing independence, but the deeper experience of moving through life changes, decisions, and responsibilities without someone right beside you. The kind of things we often imagine we’ll do with a partner, but end up navigating on our own. I talk about the difference between being alone and feeling alone, and how those two experiences can show up very differently depending on what you’re going through. This is also about learning how to hold yourself through those seasons. Finding your “why,” creating space to process your emotions, knowing when to lean into solitude, and when to lean on the right people. It builds something deeper in self-trust, confidence, and a kind of quiet resilience that only comes from living it. If you’re in a season where life feels big and you’re carrying a lot on your own, this episode is a reminder that you can do it. One step at a time. And that supporting yourself is something you can learn. Key Themes: The difference between doing things alone vs. feeling alone Why having a strong “why” makes hard things easier to carry Learning when to step inward vs. when to lean on others How to find the right support (not just more support) The growth that comes from navigating life independently Letting old routines, relationships, and habits evolve Taking big things one step at a time instead of all at once Building self-trust through lived experience Sponsored by: This episode is supported by my integrative coaching practice. This is the space where you don’t have to carry everything alone. Where you can talk through the big decisions, the in-between moments, and the things that feel hard to sort out on your own. My approach is very personal and integrative. We look at your life as a whole and work through what you need, not a one-size-fits-all plan. If you’re in a season where life feels big, heavy, or unclear, this is a place to process it with someone who can meet you there. #26 The Small Wins That Change Everything

You get a lot of life catchup in this episode, but this episode is also about creating small, intentional wins in your life that help you feel supported, especially during seasons that feel heavy. When bigger parts of life feel out of your control, these smaller, self-created moments of progress can shift your energy and rebuild your confidence. I talk about how to identify what a “win” actually looks like for you, how to make it realistic and attainable, and why these gentle, consistent efforts can change the way you move through your days. This is a reminder that success doesn’t have to be big or loud, it can be something you create quietly for yourself, one small step at a time. We need to remember how much control we have over our own lives and sometimes creating these moments makes all the difference.  Sponsored by: This episode is supported by my counseling and coaching practice. My work is very personal and integrative. We look at your life as a whole- your relationships, your health, your patterns, your emotions, and where you feel stuck or ready for change. It’s a space to process, gain clarity, and move forward in a way that actually feels aligned with you. If you’re interested, you can reach out to me directly to book or learn more! 3. #23 The Balance Between Being Alone and Being Deeply Connected

    8 APR

#23 The Balance Between Being Alone and Being Deeply Connected

In this episode, I talk about the balance of deeply valuing alone time and relationships. The part of me that needs solitude to think, reset, and feel grounded, and the part of me that values deep relationships and meaningful connection. These sides seem opposite, but for me, they actually support each other. We also talk about why it matters to feel comfortable in your own company. You don’t have to love being alone in the same way I do, but there is something really powerful about learning to be with yourself and trust yourself. At the same time, I share why I believe so deeply in connection and relationships, and how both solitude and intimacy can exist together in a really healthy, aligned way. This is really about understanding your own balance and what you need more of. Sponsor: This episode is supported by my counseling practice. My work is very personal and integrative. We focus on you, your relationships, your patterns, your health, your emotions, and what’s actually coming up in your life. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about having a space to think, process, and move forward in a way that feels true to you. #21 Desert Reflections and Finding Home Within Yourself When You are Away from Home

This episode is a soft landing. I just got back and am reflecting on my annual solo desert trip. It's something I started during a really hard season of my life that has now become a ritual I return to every year. Not to escape, but to reconnect. The desert, for me, is one of those places where everything quiets enough that I can actually hear myself again. Where my body settles and I remember who I am. I talk about creating new meaning from something old, what it felt like to give a meaningful piece of my past a new life, and how that first trip shaped the intention I now carry into it every spring. But this episode isn’t really just about the desert. It’s about finding your places, your rituals, your moments  and the things that bring you back to yourself. The things that calm your nervous system, ground you, and remind you what it feels like to be home in your own body. Because we all need those things.  Key themes: Creating new meaning from past experiences Solitude and what it actually gives you Finding your personal “medicine” What calms your nervous system Small rituals that bring you back to yourself Why having something to return to matters   Sponsored by: This episode is supported by my integrative counseling and coaching practice. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or like you’re trying to sort through something in your life, this is the kind of work I do with clients. My approach is very personalized and integrative. We look at your life as a whole. Your emotions, your relationships, your habits, your patterns, your health....and we work through what’s actually going on underneath it all. It’s a space where you can talk things out, process honestly, and come back to yourself. 5. #20 Are You Living the Life You Actually Want

    18 MAR

#20 Are You Living the Life You Actually Want

In this episode, I talk about the quiet courage it takes to actually live the life you want. We like to believe that we make decisions for ourselves, that we follow our instincts and choose the paths that feel right. But when we look closer, many of us are making decisions based on expectations, pressure, or what makes the people around us more comfortable. I reflect on how often we choose careers, relationships, or lifestyles because they seem like the “right” thing to do rather than what we truly want. And how much courage it takes to stop, look closely at your life, and ask if the path you’re on is really yours. This episode is about that moment of honesty. The moment when you notice where you’re not choosing yourself, and the bravery it takes to change direction once you see it.   In this episode, I talk about: • Why many of the biggest life decisions we make aren’t actually chosen for ourselves • How expectations from family, society, and culture quietly shape our lives • Why looking honestly at your life can feel scary but is incredibly powerful • How advice and wisdom from others should be used as clues, not absolute answers • The importance of learning to listen to your own intuition when making life decisions • Why living a life that truly fits you benefits not just you, but everyone around you Sponsored by: 1:1 Integrative Counseling with Megan If this episode brings up questions about your own life path or decisions you’re facing, this is exactly the kind of work I help people explore in my counseling practice. My approach is integrative and deeply personalized. We focus on what is actually happening in your life right now. Together we create space to think clearly, process emotions, and understand what you really want moving forward. Many people find it incredibly helpful to have a neutral and supportive person to talk to who isn’t part of their everyday life. Someone who can help you look closely at what’s going on and help you find clarity in the middle of complicated decisions. I’ve recently opened a few new spots for clients, and for new clients only I’m offering $100 off your first two sessions so you can try it out and see if we’re a good fit. If you’re interested, reach out and let me know when you book that you heard about the offer through the podcast.
