Sarah Lucille ,

A Cathartic Book Club

Michael Hobbes and Peter Shamshiri have created an absolute masterpiece in If Books Could Kill. So many of the books they cover I have read, mostly as a young adult in university trying to make sense of the world, my place in it, and to learn about how I could be successful. And when I tried to follow what I was learning without experiencing the expected result, I assumed it meant something was wrong with me. In other cases, I took a lot of what I read at face value, even if it felt... wrong. Let me tell you, friend, the catharsis I feel listening to Michael and Peter just tear apart these books is dreamy. If you love fact checking and taking the absolute piss out of grifters, charlatans, and boot-licking billionaire apologists, you are going to love this show.
