Miles Arrowsmith Delivers Walk-Off Heroics for Kalispell AA Lakers | Poster Player of the Week

When the game stretched into extra innings, Miles Arrowsmith delivered in the biggest moment. This week on Keeping Score: Poster Player of the Week, we recognize Kalispell AA Laker Miles Arrowsmith after a clutch all-around performance that completed a three-game series sweep over the Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs. Arrowsmith played hero in the 10th inning, ripping a walk-off RBI single to right field that scored the winning run and lifted the Lakers to a thrilling 6-5 victory at Griffin Field. But his biggest contribution didn't stop at the plate. After entering in relief during the eighth inning, Arrowsmith tossed 2⅓ scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while keeping Medicine Hat off the scoreboard and giving Kalispell the chance to win it in extras. The Lakers showed resilience throughout the series, battling back in another one-run game after earning a walk-off victory the night before. Arrowsmith's composure on the mound and clutch swing in the final inning highlighted exactly why he's become one of Northwest Montana's rising baseball stars. Whitefish’s Tait Orme Earns Montana All-Star Baseball Selection

Few players have embodied consistency quite like Whitefish's Tait Orme. This week, we recognize the Bulldogs standout after earning a spot on the West roster for the second annual Montana High School All-Star Baseball Game. The selection gives Orme one final opportunity to represent Whitefish while competing alongside Montana's top graduating seniors at 3 Legends Stadium in Butte.  A two-time team captain and one of the leaders behind Whitefish's rise as a baseball program, Orme made his mark in every facet of the game. Whether he was delivering quality innings on the mound, anchoring the infield, or producing at the plate, the Ripon College commit became one of the Flathead Valley's most dependable and respected players.  Known by his coaches as "Steady Eddie," Orme built his career through consistency, quiet leadership, and an unwavering work ethic. Glacier’s Asher Knopik Named Shrine Game MVP After Dominant Performance | Poster Player of the Week

When Montana’s best senior football players took the field in Butte, Glacier graduate Asher Knopik proved he belonged among the elite. This week on Keeping Score podcast, we honor Knopik after his Most Valuable Player performance in the Montana East-West Shrine Game. The former Glacier Wolfpack standout carried the ball 22 times for 99 tough yards, controlling the pace of the game and helping lead the West All-Stars to a 20-6 victory and a sixth consecutive Shrine Game win. Knopik’s impact went far beyond the stat sheet. On one of the biggest stages in Montana high school football, Knopik showcased the power, consistency, and determination that made him a standout throughout his career at Glacier. His MVP honor serves as a fitting capstone to an outstanding run and highlights the talent coming out of the Flathead Valley. Bigfork’s Tamret Savik breaks 48-Year State Record at Class A Track Championships

Bigfork’s Tamret Savik didn’t just win a state title—he rewrote the record books. This week on Keeping Score: Poster Player of the Week, we recognize one of the most remarkable performances from the Montana high school track and field season. At the Class A State Championships in Laurel on May 30th, Savik shattered a 48-year-old state record in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 48 feet, 4¾ inches, eclipsing a mark that had stood since 1978. The standout senior wasn’t finished there. Savik also captured the Class A state championship in the high jump with another personal best of 6 feet, 6 inches and added a runner-up finish in the long jump, accounting for a huge share of Bigfork’s points as the Vikings battled to a second-place team finish. Known for his relentless work ethic and competitive drive, Savik’s historic weekend was the culmination of years of dedication across multiple sports. His record-breaking jumps and championship performances helped cement his legacy as one of the premier athletes in Bigfork history. Whitefish Tennis Makes History: Bulldogs Sweep Girls & Boys State Championships

History was made in Hardin, and the Whitefish Bulldogs were at the center of it all. For this week's Poster Player(s), we're honoring the entire Whitefish boys and girls tennis programs after a remarkable performance at the Class A State Tennis Tournament. For the first time in school history, the Bulldogs captured both the boys and girls team state championships, cementing their place among the greatest teams Whitefish has ever produced. The title-winning weekend was powered by standout individual performances across the board. Jack Oehlerich capped off his stellar senior season by winning the boys singles state championship, while Aaron Anderson and Marcus Mercer battled through a three-set thriller to claim the boys doubles crown. On the girls side, Camry Kelch and Allie Shors completed a dominant, undefeated tournament run to capture the girls doubles championship without dropping a single set. Beyond the championships, Whitefish showcased incredible depth throughout the tournament, with additional podium finishes helping secure both team titles and complete a historic sweep. Complete Game. 4 RBIs. State Title. Hayden Mayer's Historic Performance | Poster Player of the Week

Some performances don't just win games — they write history. This week's Poster Player of the Week is Bigfork senior Hayden Mayer, and it's not hard to see why. In the Class A-B state championship game in Polson, Mayer did it all. He took the mound and never came off, throwing a complete game against a Dillon squad that entered the day with just one loss all season. When Bigfork needed a spark in the third inning, Mayer delivered the biggest hit of the game — a go-ahead three-run double that flipped the score and the momentum. He didn't stop there, adding another RBI later in the game to finish 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. This wasn't a one-game story either. Mayer was a cornerstone of a postseason run that took down three formidable opponents - defending champion Billings Central, Frenchtown, and the unbeaten Beavers - to bring Bigfork its first state baseball championship in program history. Bigfork Baseball Makes History: State Champions Talk the Run Nobody Saw Coming

Bigfork Vikings baseball just made history and reporter Luke Schmit was on the field at O'Malley Park to capture every raw, emotional moment of it! In this episode of Keeping Score, Luke talks with the men behind Montana's newest Class A-B state baseball champions fresh off a 7-2 victory over previously undefeated Dillon. Head coach Dave Romano breaks down a season built on chemistry, trust, and peaking at exactly the right moment. Coach Romano barely finishes his last answer before his boys make sure he gets the full championship treatment. Senior pitcher and MVP performer Hayden Mayer opens up about tossing a complete game, ripping a bases-loaded double, and what it means to be "the guy" when everything is on the line. Shortstop Grady Campbell talks family, his diving catch that shifted the momentum, and why this group is unlike any other. Third baseman Max Schara (in his first year with the program) describes what it feels like to be the ultimate underdog and win it all anyway. And assistant coach Hunter Johnson, a Dillon graduate himself, explains why beating "Title Town" made this championship even more special. From upsetting defending champion Billings Central in the opener to knocking off Frenchtown and then the Beavers in the final, Bigfork's tournament run was as unexpected as it was unstoppable. These guys didn't just win a state title — they proved everyone wrong along the way.
