The Soviet Who Saved the World (ft. Alex from History Impossible)
While I was in Texas, enjoying the honeymoon I knew I had to record stuff, because the show won't wait for me, but I did not want to do heartbreaking stuff. Thankfully, Alex had listened to my pre-wedding episode, and wanted to dig deeper about our hero, Stanislav Petrov. We used the rare occasion of a much smaller time zone difference than usual and made this for You - which Alex also posted on his feed too. Enjoy!

Western Border 2: Baseball Boogaloo
Part 2 of what we've learned and experienced in Texas. Don't worry, the episode with Alex about Stanislav Petrov is incoming, and so are horrible, depressing news about the war. Enjoy!

In between the memories and the background information
For a Soviet kid born in late eighties this show open eyes to why life was as it was during the first years of my life as most of it just happened without any explanation as I was just a child. Thank you, Kristaps! Great job!
Back to USSR
Some interesting bits and pieces to find, even for those who had chance to experience soviet socialism blessings on them selves. Furthermore this is not “USSR was total crap” type of podcast. Rather it quite accurately reflects on many virtues of that era within Eastern Europe. Presented in fun and engaging manner.
this podcast == closes thing to mind-reading you can get
do you know anyone living in either russia or one of the ex-ussr-occupied-states? do you want to know how their minds work? this podcast is great at enlightening you about what the world that shaped their minds was like.
i personally feel like i better understand my fellow latvians that are older and actually had to live through the dumpster-fire that was ussr.
