Ever wondered what happens when the realms of physics and philosophy collide?

You get an unparalleled intellectual odyssey that goes far beyond the limits of traditional discourse. Join me and the renowned philosopher and computer engineer Bernardo Kastrup as we explore the nature of reality, the mind-body problem, psychedelics, AI, and some of the most fundamental questions in cosmology.

Kastrup is the executive director of Essentia Foundation. His work has been leading the modern renaissance of metaphysical idealism, the notion that reality is essentially mental.

He has a Ph.D. in philosophy (ontology, philosophy of mind) and another Ph.D. in computer engineering (reconfigurable computing, artificial intelligence). As a scientist, Bernardo has worked for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Philips Research Laboratories (where the ‘Casimir Effect’ of Quantum Field Theory was discovered).

Formulated in detail in many academic papers and books, his ideas have been featured in Scientific American, the Institute of Art and Ideas, the Blog of the American Philosophical Association, and Big Think, among others. Bernardo’s most recent book is The Idea of the World: A multi-disciplinary argument for the mental nature of reality. For more information, freely downloadable papers, videos, etc., please visit www.bernardokastrup.com.

Our thought-provoking conversation was led by Fidias Panayiotou, who took us on an exciting journey from empirical observations to abstract speculations.

    Tune in!

Astrophysicist DEBUNKS Bart Sibrel’s Moon Landing Conspiracy Theory

Join my mailing list https://briankeating.com/list to win a real 4 billion year old meteorite! All .edu emails in the USA 🇺🇸 will WIN!

In 1969, Apollo 11 was the first crewed mission to land on the Moon.

    Or was it?

According to conspiracy theorists, it's obvious that the moon landing was faked. Now, I don't usually pay much attention to such claims, but a few days ago Joe Rogan published a new episode of his podcast, in which he hosted none other than Bart Sibrel himself, giving him a platform to spread his anti-science nonsense to millions of people around the world.

So, as a scientist, more specifically an astrophysicist, I feel that it is my duty to debunk his claims one by one and to explain the science behind the Apollo 11 mission.

    Tune in!

There are many stories, notions, and theories about what might happen if the development of artificial intelligence goes wrong. But what if it goes right? What if we develop superintelligence safely, govern it well, and make good use of it?

These are the profound questions that today’s esteemed guest, Nick Bostrom, has explored in his highly anticipated new book, Deep Utopia.

Nick is a Professor at Oxford University, where he heads the Future of Humanity Institute as its founding director. He is the most-cited professional philosopher in the world aged 50 or under and is the author of some 200 publications, including Anthropic Bias (2002), Global Catastrophic Risks (2008), Human Enhancement (2009), and Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies (2014), a New York Times bestseller.

With a background in theoretical physics, computational neuroscience, logic, and artificial intelligence, he is a leading expert in this field so without further ado, let’s dive right into his beautiful utopia!
