    676. Has America Lost the Plot?

Another war in the Middle East. A retreat from the international order. A presidency built on self-dealing and arbitrary power. It’s enough to make you think the U.S. is in a steep decline — but Fareed Zakaria thinks otherwise.   SOURCES: Fareed Zakaria, journalist and author.   RESOURCES: "Iran is an imperial trap. America walked right in." by Fareed Zakaria (The Washington Post, 2026). "‘Bomb and hope’ is not a strategy," by Fareed Zakaria (The Washington Post, 2026). The Hidden War Over Artificial Intelligence

https://www.theforbiddenknowledgenetwork.com Beneath the vast expanse of Nevada's desert, a supposed relic of the past defies the official records—a decommissioned AI server facility now a throbbing nexus of hidden activity. This episode plunges into the shadows by investigating the reported clandestine operations and secretive power struggles tied to AI infrastructure and autonomy. Gathered evidence, including power consumption logs and data transmissions, challenges public statements and uncovers a network of hidden facilities and undisclosed projects shaping the future away from the public eye. It's a probe into the heart of accountability: what happens when technology advances into the shadows without oversight? As these metallic corridors hum with the covert hum of technology, questions emerge about the deeper intentions and funders of these opaque operations. Who truly pulls the strings of such operations, and what implications do these hidden AI infrastructures have on a national and global scale? Investigative threads unravel the concealment strategies, such as budget masking and narrative control, utilized to shield these projects from public scrutiny. The episode beckons listeners into the enigma, urging a reassessment of the narrative pitched by official sources and exposing the high-stakes dialogue surrounding AI's clandestine evolution. 🔒 Want the full experience? The Grossglockner Case That Changed Alpine Law | Disaster Strikes E239

In January 2025, Thomas Plamberger and his girlfriend Kerstin Gurtner set out to climb the Grossglockner — Austria's highest peak — on a technical winter route they had planned together. What happened over the next sixteen hours would result in Kerstin's death from hypothermia, a forensic investigation using GPS watch data and confiscated phones, a surprise courtroom witness with a story eerily similar to Kerstin's, and a verdict that sent shockwaves through the international climbing community. In this episode, Julie and Kaycee walk through the documented timeline minute by minute — the equipment choices, the missed helicopter, the calls that weren't made — and bring in the medical realities of what Kerstin's body was experiencing in those final hours on the mountain. The case raises a question that has no clean answer: when two adults choose to climb together, at what point does one of them become legally responsible for the other? The court gave its answer in February 2026. Whether it was the right one is still being debated. 00:00 Patreon Mention 00:34 Disaster Strikes Intro 01:38 Cold Open On The Ridge 03:05 Case And Legal Question 04:13 Meet Thomas And Kirsten 06:26 Ascent Plan And Early Delays 08:23 Missed Call And Warning Signs 10:02 Helicopter Flyover No Signal 11:18 Gear Illness And Deterioration 12:58 Leaving Her And Rescue Timeline 19:36 Investigation And Trial Twist 23:11 Verdict And Family Response 28:30 Why This Case Changes Climbing 30:28 Final Reflections And Goodbye Listen AD FREE: Support our podcast at patreaon: http://patreon.com/TheCruxTrueSurvivalPodcast Email us! thecruxsurvival@gmail.com Instagram https://www.instagram.com/thecruxpodcast/ Get schooled by Julie in outdoor wilderness medicine! https://www.headwatersfieldmedicine.com/ KEY REFERENCES:  Climbing Magazine — "Climber Faces Homicide Charges After His Partner Dies. Frozen Solid at 3 Years Old: The Christmas Eve Miracle That Stumped Medicine | E 237

When three-year-old Brittany Eichelberger slipped out of her family's trailer in Elkins, West Virginia on Christmas Eve 1990, no one knew she was gone. She was found hours later, clinically dead in the snow — frozen stiff, her heart stopped, her body nearly 25 degrees below normal temperature. A neighbor, a determined paramedic, and a rural hospital team that refused to quit launched one of the most extraordinary resuscitation efforts ever documented in emergency medicine. The cold that stopped her heart may also be the reason her brain survived. This is a story about what happens when everyone around you decides it isn't over yet. Introducing: The Pornhub Empire

Pornhub — that site you only access on your browser’s incognito mode? It gets way more views than Netflix. But because of the sheepishness and stigma around porn, it’s treated as if it’s fringe, instead of what it really is: one of Canada’s largest cultural exports. In The Pornhub Empire, hear the story of how a Montreal-founded company came to dominate the adult industry — only to have its reputation obliterated in a massive scandal — and where it stands today.

    Ep 1: The Five Poisons

Former NSA Director Keith Alexander called it “the greatest transfer of wealth in history.” Hillary Clinton, FBI Director James Comey and President Barack Obama also sounded the alarm on the biggest heist in human history. In Episode 1, host and former lead cybersecurity and digital espionage reporter for The New York Times, Nicole Perlroth, pulls back the curtain on China’s sprawling hacking operations. To combat the “Five Poisons”, or the five groups the Chinese Communist Party deems existential threats, China builds an expansive domestic surveillance apparatus. As these dissidents fled China, China’s state-sponsored hackers followed closely behind, wiring the world for Chinese surveillance and paving the way for Operation Aurora.

Does Ukraine have the advantage at the moment against Russia?

There appears to be a shift in the years-long conflict in Ukraine. Last weekend, Ukrainian forces struck deeper into Russian territory, piercing its air defences in a large strike on the Moscow region. This came a week after fears of a Ukrainian attack forced Russia to scale down its annual Victory Day parade. Kyiv's also been relentlessly striking Russia's oil facilities and military logistics, as it tries to disrupt supplies to the frontlines. All this as Russian missiles and drones continue to target sites across Ukraine.
