    Rhys Chapman's Short Film RYAN CAN'T READ: In-Depth Discussion of One of the World's Greatest Shorts

    Ladies and gentlemen, we at Bond on Cinema consider the RYAN CAN’T READ as one of the greatest short films ever created. This is a film I can honestly say is my favorite short film of all time and for many reasons. One can spend all day and talk about the technical aspects about the creation of the film, but I’m only interested in the emotion of the storyline and do the characters deliver that emotion. RYAN CAN’T READ brings us a story that everyone in some way can relate too. Fear, insecurity, a lack of confidence. And then you have one person who takes the time out of their day to be a teacher, a mentor, a friend to help someone who needs a massive boost in their lives, in this case due to illiteracy and loss of a loved one. I know I have watched this film at least 10 times and after the first there times I’ve watched it, I have learned to let this film just to have its way with me. And every time, it causes tears to stream down my face. I even played the ending over to watch it again and just ending alone made me cry. And that’s what film is supposed to do if we let it. RYAN CAN’T READ is an inspiring film for all of us.
