The Friendship Experiment: 36 Questions That Create Deep Female Friendships (Pt. 1/3)

Be part of the experiment by joining us here: https://forms.gle/zVr3Dt9CKGPVg55r7 Introducing The Friendship Experiment: We're lonelier than ever. Despite being more connected than any generation before us, loneliness is now being called the epidemic of our lifetime. Coupled with the fact that making friends in your 30s is tricky… And the world is telling us AI solves everything, yet research consistently shows that relationships are the single greatest predictor of how long we live and the quality of that life. We are most certainly in a pickle. We asked ourselves whether we could actually do something about it. In 1997, psychologist Arthur Aron published a study exploring whether intimacy could be accelerated between strangers using just 36 questions, delivered in three sets of increasing depth. The results were pretty remarkable. We've taken his experiment and tweaked it: what happens when you apply it to female friendship instead of romantic love? The Friendship Experiment is a three-part mini series where I answer all 36 questions myself, raw and increasingly personal, before opening them up to our community inside our private podcast discussion group. It's an experiment of an experiment, and an exciting new format for the show to explore a deeper two-way street connection between podcast and you, our community. It's intimate and joyful, and something new :) Here's what we're exploring: Why making friends in your 30s feels harder than it used to (and what we can do about it) The science behind why vulnerability creates connection My unfiltered answers to the first set of 12 questions like This one’s for the chicks craving deeper connection, who are tired of surface-level networking, and looking for friendships that feel good for the soul. Perimenopause in Your 30s: Why We Need Better Hormone Testing for Women - with Dr. Amandeep Hansra

What if the brain fog, the mood swings, and the exhaustion you're dismissing as "just stress" is actually perimenopause... and you're only 37? This is a conversation from our full length episode with Dr. Amandeep Hansra on Female Startup Club, where she's getting brutally honest about the thing most doctors still won't tell you: perimenopause can start in your 30s. And the tests we're using to diagnose it? They're basically useless. In this conversation, Dr. Amandeep opens up about why a single blood test won't tell you if you're perimenopausal (your hormones fluctuate minute to minute), why she had to see three doctors before getting HRT prescribed (as a doctor herself), and the 2000s study that created a generation of women too scared to take hormones that could actually help them live longer. I wanted to know: Why we can't diagnose perimenopause with a blood test (and what we actually need) What the HRT scare of the early 2000s got wrong and why doctors are still scared to prescribe it How to find a doctor who won't dismiss your symptoms as anxiety This one is for the woman who's been told "it's just stress" or "maybe it's anxiety" when she knows something deeper is going on in her body. Let us know what you think of this episode by leaving a review or commenting on our video wherever you’re tuning in from (we reply!) :) 💁‍♀️ SPONSORS → For ecomm founders: Omnisend is your email-SMS-automation partner that costs 60% less than the big names and returns $79 for every dollar spent → Use code FSC for 30% off your first 3 months at omnisend.com/fsc 🔗 LINKS → Dr. Amandeep Hansra Instagram: www.instagram.com/dochansra 📱 Join 160K smart chicks in the Female Startup Club universe: → Use code 'FSC' for 30% off your first 3 months at omnisend.com/fsc → Female Startup Club's Instagram: www.instagram.com/femalestartupclub → Doone Roisin's Instagram: www.instagram.com/dooneroisin → Get opportunities delivered to your inbox 3x weekly here: https://female-startup-club.beehiiv.com/

What does an NFL sports agent have in common with a Taylor Swift fitness community? Alexy Posner has spent 10 years building the personal brands of top NFL players. She's also the founder of Swiftie Liftie Club, a Taylor Swift-themed fitness community that now draws 400+ people per event. And the thing she wants every founder to know? Saying no is where the leverage actually lives... The Doctor Who's Changing Medicine for Women + HRT, Ozempic & Longevity - Dr. Amandeep Hansra

Dr. Amandeep Hansra is a practicing GP, co-founder of Medical Angels (34 investments and counting), and one of Australia's most vocal advocates for closing the gender gap in medicine and health investment. But what she really wants you to know about women's health surprised me.. because the biggest breakthroughs aren't coming from billion-dollar labs. They're coming from women who got fed up and built something. In this chat with Female Startup Club, Dr. Amandeep gets refreshingly honest about why medicine still gets women wrong, what the HRT scare of the early 2000s actually showed us, and how she ended up with insulin resistance despite doing "all the right things." I wanted to know: Why she had to see three doctors before getting HRT prescribed (as a doctor herself) What GLP-1s like Ozempic actually do to muscle and bone in women The free tool she recommends for researching your own health (not ChatGPT!) This one is for the woman who's ever left a doctor's appointment feeling dismissed, and is ready to advocate harder for herself. 💁‍♀️ SPONSORS → For ecomm founders: Omnisend is your email-SMS-automation partner that costs 60% less than the big names and returns $79 for every dollar spent → Use code FSC for 30% off your first 3 months at omnisend.com/fsc 🔗 LINKS → Dr. Amandeep Instagram: [@dochansra ] 📱 Join 160K smart chicks in the Female Startup Club universe: → Use code 'FSC' for 30% off your first 3 months at omnisend.com/fsc → Female Startup Club's Instagram: www.instagram.com/femalestartupclub → Doone Roisin's Instagram: www.instagram.com/dooneroisin → Get opportunities delivered to your inbox 3x weekly here: https://female-startup-club.beehiiv.com/ Hosted on Acast. Your Network is the Business Model: How to turn conversations into income, funding & once-in-a-lifetime opportunities

This is an interview originally published on the Unstoppable Podcast by Jess Williamson. I'm chatting with her about how you can build real influence and a network that opens doors to bigger opportunities, partnerships and income. And how I did it with Female Startup Club, one of the world’s leading female founder podcasts and communities. "Doone has interviewed hundreds of founders, built a global network, landed major opportunities through relationships and turned conversations into real influence, access, and income." Every topic we yap about in this conversation: Here's the list reframed so every bullet answers "what do I get from this?": Why most big opportunities come from who you know (and how to become that person) How to show up unapologetically (and why it attracts the right people) How to know when it's time to pivot your business How to do the thing you're terrified of — even when you feel allergic to it How to land sponsors and paid deals with a tiny audience (the exact pitch strategy behind a $25K deal at 2,000 downloads) The "minimum audience size" myths to ignore before you monetize How to turn conversations into a business model How to reverse-engineer any opportunity — Forbes lists, TED talks, grants, speaking gigs Why you should pitch the person, not the company (and how to find their KPIs) The exact question to ask when you don't know what value you can offer How to pitch without desperate energy — the seagull & the chip mindset shift What founders with $650M and $1.2B exits have in common The mindset pattern that separates women who make it from women who stay stuck How rooms like Davos actually work — and how to get into rooms like them The #1 strategy for building a powerful network when you don't know anyone Why partnering with brands at your level beats chasing the big ones How to build influence and authority without a huge following Where to find other women operating at your level 📱 Join 160K smart chicks in the Female Startup Club universe: → Use code 'FSC' for 30% off your first 3 months at omnisend.com/fsc → Female Startup Club's Instagram: www.instagram.com/femalestartupclub → Doone Roisin's Instagram: www.instagram.com/dooneroisin → Get opportunities delivered to your inbox 3x weekly here: https://female-startup-club.beehiiv.com/ Hosted on Acast. Youngest Female Pilot to Fly Solo Around Australia at 17: $82K Raised, a World Record & the hidden anxiety with success - Rose Donald

Rose Donald just broke the Guinness World Record as the youngest female pilot to fly solo around Australia. She started the trip at 17, turned 18 mid-route, and raised over $82,000 for Little Wings, a children's charity that flies seriously ill kids from rural Australia to specialist hospitals in the cities. But the part she really opened up about, what it actually cost her to get there, is the message she most wants other young women to hear. In this conversation with Female Startup Club, Rose gets refreshingly honest about chasing big goals at a young age. We get into how she planned a year-long solo flight around Australia from her bedroom in Melbourne, the patchwork of sponsorship and charity money that made a $40k+ flight possible at 17, and the anxiety and self-sacrifice that nobody saw behind the headlines. Her message at the end of this one (about why she doesn't want young women comparing themselves to her) genuinely stopped me in my tracks. I wanted to know: how she funded a $40k+ solo flight around Australia at 17 what's actually going through your head 8 hours alone in a cockpit why she doesn't want young women comparing themselves to her ⏱ CHAPTERS 00:00 - Introduction 01:35 - Why she flew solo around Australia at 17 02:45 - The 17 year old boy who sparked the idea at 14 03:30 - Finding Little Wings and raising $80,000+ 05:07 - Funding a $40k flight at 17 06:26 - Three months without sleep planning the trip 07:44 - Tapping the Australian Women's Pilots Association 09:49 - Five Melbourne charity rejections before Little Wings 13:20 - How the Guinness World Record application works 15:24 - What you actually think about up in the clouds 18:36 - Calling dad as a last resort during scary moments 19:24 - Horn Island and the two hour weather window 22:48 - Perspective from above on school stress 25:10 - The aviation community she didn't know she needed 27:43 - Anxiety, fear of failure and a permanently injured knee 30:48 - Please don't compare yourself to me 32:28 - The $100k donation goal for Little Wings 🔗 LINKS → Rose Donald on Instagram: www.instagram.com/pilotrose.au → Donate to Pilot Rose x Little Wings campaign: https://www.givenow.com.au/girls-can-fly #FemaleStartupClub #WomenInAviation #GuinnessWorldRecord #LittleWings #RoseDonald 📱 Join 160K smart chicks in the Female Startup Club universe: → Use code 'FSC' for 30% off your first 3 months at omnisend.com/fsc → Female Startup Club's Instagram: www.instagram.com/femalestartupclub → Doone Roisin's Instagram: www.instagram.com/dooneroisin → Get opportunities delivered to your inbox 3x weekly here: https://female-startup-club.beehiiv.com/ Hosted on Acast. How To Get Paid in the Creator Economy 2026, with Gen-Z Media Founder Lauren Meisner (Centennial World)

Lauren Meisner built Centennial World, a Gen-Z media business covering internet culture, from just $5,000. It launched in 2019 as a beauty publication and today it's an independent podcast network running a daily show plus weekly deep dives, with most of its audience on YouTube. She's also just launched Spon Studio, a marketplace built to connect independent podcasters with brands. But the part she really opened up about... the actual numbers behind creator brand deals and how to monetise in the creator economy for 2026. In this juicy episode Lauren gets properly honest about the money side of the creator economy. We get into what brands are actually paying right now, the mini series she sold for $20k before finding out it was worth five times that (ouch), payment terms that somehow stretch to nine months, and how on earth you price yourself when the whole industry still feels like the Wild West. If you've ever stared at a brand's email with no clue what number to send back, this one is for you. I wanted to know: what brands are actually paying podcasters and creators in 2026 how she went from a $9k first deal to multi six-figure partnerships how to set your payment terms and stop chasing late invoices This one is for the woman who is building something in the creator economy (or wants to) and is done leaving money on the table. ⏱ CHAPTERS 00:00 - Introduction 01:30 - The creator economy is still the Wild West 04:00 - Building Centennial World from $5,000 07:30 - From beauty publisher to internet culture 11:00 - Why they killed the website and went all in on podcasting 15:00 - Going solo after her co-founder exited 19:00 - Scaling too fast and burning out 24:00 - Building shows that don't rely on her face 28:00 - The first brand deal: $9,000 from MAC 33:00 - The mini series she undercharged by 5x 38:00 - Building a real sales process and cold outreach 44:00 - The 2026 wildcard opportunity for creators 49:00 - What brands actually want now 54:00 - The dark side of being chronically online 58:00 - Term sheet red flags and saying no to free work 01:03:00 - Payment terms and getting paid up front 01:08:00 - Why she built Spon Studio 01:14:00 - Advice for starting a podcast in 2026 🔗 LINKS → Lauren Meisner on Instagram: @laurenmeisner_ → Centennial World on TikTok: @centennialworld → Spon Studio: www.sponstudio.com #FemaleStartupClub #CreatorEconomy #Podcasting #BrandDeals #CentennialWorld 📱 Join 160K smart chicks in the Female Startup Club universe → Female Startup Club's Instagram: www.instagram.com/femalestartupclub → Doone Roisin's Instagram: www.instagram.com/dooneroisin 📱 Join 160K smart chicks in the Female Startup Club universe: → Use code 'FSC' for 30% off your first 3 months at omnisend.com/fsc → Female Startup Club's Instagram: www.instagram.com/femalestartupclub → Doone Roisin's Instagram: www.instagram.com/dooneroisin → Get opportunities delivered to your inbox 3x weekly here: https://female-startup-club.beehiiv.com/ Hosted on Acast.
