The Consult is the most ethical, most professional, most in-depth, most educational and most respectful True Crime-podcast there is - there’s no two ways about it. The True Crime-genre has fascinated and intrigued me for years, and I have my fair share of experience with True Crime-podcasts and programs. Because of the content discussed and the many people affected by these tragedies, there is such delicacy, professionalism and empathy required to do it the right way, to do this genre ‘justice’. If it is done the right way, it can give such profound insight into human behavior whilst lending respect to everyone involved, and only then can it transcend the controversial realm of entertainment. Ethics and respect have to be made priority in this genre, and I often felt these elements lacking tremendously in other podcasts. This has, in my opinion, given the genre itself a bad name, and for good reason. One day, I found myself disillusioned in this genre, because of the lack of empathy and ethics. When I found the Consult though, all these elements came together. You can clearly notice these people are professionals in this space. They know what they are talking about and clearly have a lot of experience in this area. The Consult really stands out in the True Crime-genre, as they dicusss these at times very intense cases with such tact, discretion and diplomacy. Truly, you four, Julia, Robert, Susan and Angela, are doing something of immense value on the Consult. It has given me tremendous inisght into human behavior, and has deepened my empathy immensely for everyone involved and affected. It has given me a greater understanding of how the various agencies work, and everything that goes into trying to solve these crimes and find justice. There are many professionals brought in on the podcast as well, either to be interviewed or consulted, and this brings such a comprehensive quality to it, as so many different angles are covered. I truly can’t speak highly enough about the Consult. Thank you for doing what you do with this Podcast, it truly elevates this important genre!
