This is the pattern that allows you to express actions people do to each other. Instead of simply saying “to help” or “to see,” Swahili gives you a natural way to say “help each other,” “see one another,” “love each other,” and more. We looked at how reciprocal extensions often use -na at the end of the verb: • kusaidia → kusaidiana (to help each other)• kupenda → kupendana (to love each other)• kuona → kuonana (to see each other)• kusalimia → kusalimiana (to greet each other) What makes this powerful is that you are no longer memorizing isolated words. Because up to now, you may have learned words… maybe even a few sentence patterns… but expressing completed actions, what you have done, what you have said, what you have experienced, that’s where things start to feel more real. So we’re not rushing through this. Just listen the first time. Then come back and repeat a few of the sentences out loud. Let it feel a little slow. That’s okay. This is the kind of lesson that settles over time… and once it does, you’ll notice your confidence start to shift in a very natural way.
