Om blod - med Katrine Lekang - #113

Alt cellene våre trenger av oksygen, mat og hormoner blir fraktet til dem med blodet. Det gjøres i et intrikat nettverk av blodårer, som til sammen har lignende totallengde som alle veier i Norge lagt etter hverandre. Blod har også alltid hatt en stor kulturell betydning. I denne episoden tar Kristopher Schau turen til Rikshospitalet for å møte hjertelege og professor i atferdsmedisin John Munkhaugen. Han har ledet et stort studie på betablokkere som har fått stor internasjonal oppmerksomhet og som kan endre retningslinjer for behandling i hele verden. Munkhaugen forklarer hvordan prosjektet foregikk ned i minste detalj. Prosjektet involverte nesten 5 700 pasienter, 44 sykehus og over 100 involverte fagpersoner.
