The best embarrassment

Hey, Adam and Ben. Love the show. What would your celebrity supercouple combined name be?

Meh.

Thanks for the show guys; I find after however many shows it’s been it’s starting to get tired. Whereas I used to quite enjoy your professional insight and fun humour, now not so much.

The wokest little Star Trek podcast. (Or is it? Woke that is.)

I found this awesome podcast and basically binged it all the way up to today.

I’m a Star Trek fan from the beginning, and these guys take on Star Trek is both hilarious and thoughtful. They have good questions to ask about the stories, writing and treatment of various characters.

And then every once in a while they have cringing attempts to be woke, and virtue signal like they’re trying to guide a 747 into a parking spot.

I am both amused, and roll my eyes. :-)

For instance, on the first appearance of the Ferengi, they seemed to think they were representing Jewish people. Rather than the very obvious example of ultra capitalism.

And in a DS9 episode, they tried to say that an alien with darker skin was treated badly by one of our characters, because of their dark skin. But there is no such character in the episode.

Perhaps these were examples of jokes I just didn’t get. Don’t know.

And I’m also sure that they get criticised from both the far left, and the far right. One for not being woke enough, one for being in any way woke at all.

So I actually appreciate that they have just stuck to their style, and done their own thing. It’s one reason I’m still listening.

I might roll my eyes on occasion, but that doesn’t stop me always enjoying their work and perspective.

:-)
