Morir bajo custodia de ICE

Las muertes bajo custodia de ICE alcanzaron un récord en Estados Unidos: 37 personas han fallecido en los centros de detención entre octubre de 2025 y septiembre de 2026, el número más alto desde que existe ICE. La operación para detener migrantes se ha hecho menos visible pero ha crecido mucho más rápido que la capacidad logística del Estado para atenderlos, y es un negocio lucrativo para empresas que obtienen contratos millonarios por hacerse cargo. En este episodio conversamos con la periodista Natasha Del Toro, que acaba de publicar con el equipo de Fault Lines una investigación sobre el centro de detención de Adelanto, California. Allí murió Ismael Ayala-Uribe, un migrante mexicano que pidió atención médica durante semanas sin recibirla. The approach to this year’s midterms has brought two hugely consequential changes to voting for Black Americans: the gutting of the Voting Rights Act, and redistricting. In the wake of those actions, efforts are underway to mobilize Black voters in the South. In Mississippi, the Senate battle is being seen as a sleeper race, and the Black Democrat running has a chance of flipping the seat, but state lawmakers are trying to redraw the maps and do away with their one majority Black district. Sudan's hospitals deliberately targeted by RSF fighters

A BBC investigation has found evidence that Sudanese paramilitary fighters systematically destroyed El-Fasher's healthcare system during their long siege and subsequent takeover of the city in Darfur a year ago. UN human rights chief Volker Türk called the findings "deeply disturbing", saying multiple attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on civilian infrastructure, including health facilities, were serious violations of international humanitarian law and may amount to war crimes. Also: the Israeli military says two soldiers were killed in an attack by Palestinian gunmen in the occupied West Bank. The two suspected attackers were shot dead by the IDF. Ukrainian defence officials say there are still restrictions on their use of the Starshield satellite network, despite President Trump saying it was operating normally.
