    All Star Weekend, Midseason Awards, and the PLL got $100 million

    We're talking PLL all show today! First, it's All Star Weekend. We cover the All Star game itself, including why I think it's better than the all star game in most other sports. We talk about voting early, whether or not that really matters, and the nature of fan voted all star games. Then, it's the big news of the week. The PLL secured $100 million in a Series E financing round led by Ares and Joe Tsai. We talk the announcement, the celebrity investors including Glen Powell and Rob Mac, and the stated goals for the money. Then, we ask some questions about what the next two years will look like with this investment, and how the next major money event for the PLL will take shape. Finally, since it's the midway point, we take stock of the league. We look at the positional races across the PLL and make the case for some first timers at each position to win some hardware.     Catching up on lost time, PLL season takes, previewing San Diego Weekend

    We're back after a long time off! We're catching up and making up for lost time a bit. A few quick words on the Tewaaraton (because it's been that long), a few quick words on UVA which is messier every day, and then into the PLL. We spend a few minutes hashing out how the first month or so of the season has gone, and the challenges that come with schedule overlap, roster turnover, injuries, and everything else the league and fans have had to deal with in the early going. We touch on the PLL Fieldside II card set, and the mess it has become, and a few other things, before taking a positive turn.     Recapping the regular season and NCAA bracket talk

    The regular season is over, and it's NCAA tournament time. We start by looking back at the conference by conference predictions that we made before the season started. What did we get wrong, who did we miss, and what about the few things we managed to get right? Then, it's bracket talk. After shaming the NCAA a bit for letting it release early, we look at some of the stories. Princeton is the one seed, and it was clear by Sunday night why. Duke is in, despite the light schedule. Maryland is out for the first time in decades. UVA is as hot as a pistol, Richmond gets to host Duke, and a more resumes and games to look forward to.     PLL training camp, a new Pro Day, and Terry Foy talks NCAA Bracketology

    It's a PACKED friday episode. We start by celebrating that the boys are back. PLL training camp is underway. We talk through the earlier start, and some interesting names on the rosters. Plus, some thoughts on PLL coaches tendency to just go with guys they know, how it damages credibility in some cases, and makes it that much harder for guys to break into the PLL. Then, we talk about the solution to that problem. PLL Pro Day will happen in Baltimore in May, giving coaches and GMs the chance to evaluated invited undrafted players for their rosters. We talk about how it can be a path for undercovered talent to make their way to the pros, as long as the league avoids some obvious pitfalls with the invite list. After that we get to some college ball. Terry Foy of Inside Lacrosse joins to go through his latest edition of Bracketology. We talk about Duke's weird non-resume, potential bid thiefs, and the games this weekend that can be high impact on the bracket. Finally, we run through the full slate of games.     Happy Friday! We missed the Tuesday show, so we start by quickly running through the Top 20 in the media poll, including my ballot, and a bit of RPI flavor mixed in. Then, Jon Gruden spent some time at Tampa lacrosse practice. I share a few thoughts on why I think it's important to welcome Gruden to the sport, and on the challenges that we all face when it comes to reckoning with our past. Finally, we go through the weekend slate. We've got #1 vs #2 in UNC and ND, a great matchup in the dome between Cuse and UVA, a desperate Duke team in a neutral site game against Cornell, and plenty of other high end matchups with conference tournament stakes.
