Over the past three decades, ongoing monitoring and adaptive management strategies have produced significant environmental benefits, including strengthened dune systems, a wider and more resilient beach, and enhanced nesting habitat for sea turtles. Today, the project serves as a national model for data-driven coastal management, demonstrating how strategic restoration efforts can successfully preserve dynamic beach ecosystems while delivering lasting environmental, recreational, and community benefits. _________________________________________________________________________ Martin County Florida - Your County. As part of Martin County’s Art in Public Places collection, this powerful sculptural wind chime features five suspended bells representing the five branches of the United States military, each incorporating authentic military artifacts that accompanied service members during times of conflict. The interiors of the bells are painted red, symbolizing the commitment carried within those who serve, while sculptural epaulets above reference ceremonial traditions of honor and recognition. Though shaped like a wind chime, the piece is intentionally silent—inviting reflection on service, remembrance, and the often-unspoken contributions of military members and their families.
