AnthroLore is hosted by Coconino Community College Anthropology instructor, Lisa Doskocil and current students/aspiring Anthropologists who explore the underrated nature of storytelling and how the origins of cultures are expressed through them. We take a look at various cultures and the vast creatures and monsters embedded with in their traditions and belief systems. In addition we also explore seasonal celebrations across the world, ultimately viewing myths, legends, and folklore from a holistic perspective. Each season is a different semester and includes many different voices.

Sometimes the culture of care is just about capitalism and consumption. Here we discuss that and how to view self care as something we are all capable of doing, no strings attached.

    Special Edition: Our Florida Trip

    In Spring of 2025, we took students from Arizona, some of whom have never flown anywhere before to visit my old haunting grounds of Gainesville, Florida. We got a great taste of old Florida including humidity, Spanish moss, Micanopy, author of the Yearling--Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' homestead of Cross Creek, St. Augustine, and other locals. Here the students and I discuss what we did and how our exploration of Florida culture impacted all of us. Thank you to Santa Fe College and Coconino Community College for helping us to have this opportunity.
