Advocating for Your Neurodivergent Child: Advice From A Behaviour Support Specialist

In this weeks episode of Holding Space, we sit down with Aviea from Autism 360. Aviea is a behaviour support specialist who works closely with families of neurodivergent children, including ASD & ADHD. With a focus on empowering mothers and parents, she shares how she helps parents manage the emotional toll of advocating for their children within the school system.  We explore how she does this, and how she helps prepare parents for meetings about their child, communicating with educators & ensuring that the child's unique needs are recognised and met.  Her approach enforces that no one knows a child better than their parent, and that they have the tools to help support their child not only at home but at school.  This is a must listen for anyone on their journey of supporting a neurodivergent child.  Find Autism 360 here https://www.autism360.com Learn more about Rita Pietrosanto www.ritapietrosanto.com Follow us on socials Instagram - @rita_pietrosanto Facebook - @Rita Pietrosanto If you would like to ask a question and have it answered and featured in our 'Mama Unscripted' segment on Holding Space For Her, please send me an email and ask me anything - remember no topic is taboo or off limits! The Essence of Motherhood: Healing Through Flowers with The Naughty Naturopath Mum

In this episode of 'Holding Space for Her', I welcome the wonderful Alicia, affectionately known as the Naughty Naturopath Mum, to discuss her intriguing journey and professional evolution. Alicia narrates the whimsical origin of her distinctive brand name, stemming from her rebellious nature and early entrepreneurial efforts on Facebook, prior to launching her website. She shares her transition from a practicing naturopath to devising a niche focus on flower essences, particularly after becoming a mother. The conversation provides deep insights into how Alicia effectively juggles managing social media with her family life. We delve into the mechanics of flower essences, exploring their role as vibrational remedies that support emotional health without physical side effects, making them safe for all, including pregnant and breastfeeding women. Alicia emphasises the paramount importance of emotional health, particularly for mothers who often grapple with postnatal depletion, overwhelm, stress, and sometimes depression. She explains how chronic emotional imbalances can significantly affect physical health. Highlighting the energetic bond between mother and child, Alicia discusses how a mother’s emotional health can directly influence her children, especially those under seven years old, who share an energy field with their mothers. An intriguing part of the discussion focuses on two of Alicia's key blends, Mama Magic and Mojo, designed to support mothers' emotional wellness. Mama Magic, the first blend Alicia formulated, came into existence from her personal experiences and has since helped countless mothers. Mojo, on the other hand, was inspired by her journey to regain confidence and energy post-pregnancy, incorporating elements that boost self-esteem and motivation. We also cover the intuitive process of choosing the right blend from Alicia's comprehensive website, which categorizes blends based on emotional needs, making it user-friendly for customers. Additionally, Alicia explains the circumstances under which a custom blend might be more suitable, especially in cases of specific traumas or significant lifestyle changes. Lastly, Alicia shares the most popular blends for children, such as Focus and Slow Down, which are particularly effective for neurodiverse kids. She highlights the flexibility of using mists and blends, especially for younger children under two years old. The episode wraps up with Alicia explaining the various ways to contact her for personalised advice and customer service.
