Withou one of the regular hosts Jeremie Harris, this podcast is abysmal. If he's there, Jeremie provides succinct, highly informative insights especially on hardware questions related to AI.
The other regular host Andrey Kurenkov is usually scarecely prepared, and unengaging.
In episodes like 177, without the moderating mind of Harris, Kurenkov and guest host Jon Krohn hallucinate way worse than GPT 3 ever did.
A few points for ep. 177:
Both the Apache 2 and the Gemma licensee, you must include the copy of the license agreement in the distributives — but the Gemma license prohibits use that's illegal or harmful, that's the only major difference.
Segment Anything allows "any category, similar to CLIP"? No, Segment Anything doesn't have any language component and knows nothing of categories. It finds all pixels that belong to an object you point at. But it doesn't know what object that is.
3D monsters in "uh, some video games or television rendering"? It's called CGI or VFX.
Midjourney has had a web interface for months now.
Adobe never tried to acquire Canva. Adobe tried to acquire Figma but failed, while Canva actually did acquire Affinity, a suite of apps competitive to Adobe's.
