152: Who the Hell is Richard Hanania? feat. Christopher Mathias & Henry Burke

From 2008 to 2012, Richard Hanania wrote under the name “Richard Hoste” for white nationalist websites, where he argued for forcibly sterilizing people with IQs under 90 and warned that “race mixing” was destroying the white gene pool. Then he went to law school, got a PhD, founded a think tank, and reinvented himself as an “anti-woke” pundit beloved by Elon Musk, Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel and Vivek Ramaswamy. Now he’s a repentant Trump voter writing for the Boston Globe, being praised by liberals, and defending Jeffrey Epstein. What are we to make of a guy like this?  Jared and Mike are joined by Christopher Mathias, the reporter who unmasked Hanania’s alt-right past in 2023, and Henry Burke, a senior researcher at the Revolving Door Project who shared a mountain of research for this episode. Together they trace how Hanania was accepted by three political worlds in turn: the white nationalist fringe, the MAGA-adjacent tech right, and liberals hungry for MAGA converts.  (Richard Hanania answered some of our questions by email for this episode but not others.) 150: The GOP is Libbity Bibbity Blowing It feat. Nikki McCann Ramírez

The GOP is spending big enough on TV ads that you’d think they were in a strong position headed into the midterms. The opposite is true. They are lost in a sea of dogshit and running out of scapegoats to attack. To the average swing voter, they have now entered… the Libbity Bibbity Zone of the terminally insufferable. On this episode, Jared and Mike are joined by Nikki McCann Ramírez, political reporter at Rolling Stone and cohost of the American Friction podcast, to talk about MAGA’s scattershot closing argument: migrant caravans, anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-Muslim attacks, conspiracy theories about James Talarico, and whatever else they can pull out of their money-stuffed asses. They dig into the Trump/Vance road tour through red states, an administration drowning in cartoonish corruption and self-inflicted wounds, and leaked audio of Ken Paxton sounding worried about Texas. Plus: how realistic is a Democratic sweep of the House and the Senate, and if MAGA gets wiped out in November, what does the “post-MAGA” right look like. So look out for Mayhem. 149: Which Way Western Twink? [Preview]

Listen to premium episodes on our Patreon: patreon.com/postingthroughit ~~~ You’re a groyper in October 2026: You get cozy to watch your idol, Nick Fuentes. But what’s Nick talking about here? Weight loss tips, his opinions on how to drink coffee and the wonders of autumn? And what are you wearing while watching Nick? How about some naughty-looking athletic socks... and a thong, perhaps?  If you only follow Fuentes out of the corner of your eye, you might have missed some changes in his fanbase. What started as a white nationalist movement claiming to defend tradition and heteronormativity has evolved into something much more about culture and sexuality, with Fuentes’ fans adopting all kinds of public postures that white nationalists are supposed to consider degenerate. On the heels of this, Fuentes himself was allegedly spotted out at dinner with a fellow groyper in one of Chicago's LGBTQ+-friendly neighborhoods. On this episode, Jared and Mike dig into Fuentes’ alleged gay date at Big Jones in Andersonville, the years of rumors about Nick’s sexuality that led up to it, and the openly gay groyper accounts now hawking his merch in thongs and America First socks.  Then Jared walks through the conspiracy theory MAGA media cooked up after Texas Senate nominee James Talarico came down with the flu: that he had secretly flown to an Ohio psychiatric hospital. The evidence? An anonymous account with an AI-generated profile picture, a private flight with no connection to Talarico, and a call to the Lindner Center of Hope edited to cut out the part where the employee said there was no record of him receiving care there.  So, get your poppers ready for a hypnotically gay and potentially mentally ill pumpkin spice creamium episode of Posting Through It. We are feeling cozy!

148: The Secret Lives of MAGA Wives feat. Madeline Peltz

Picture it: You are in a secluded strip of fancy-pants military housing. In the distance, a Bose stereo pumps out an EDM remix of “Ring of Fire.” A beleaguered Benihana chef squirts sake into Doug Burgum’s wiggling, groaning, drunken mouth. A mechanical bull launches an unattended seven-year-old boy into the air, his landing spot out of sight. You are now in Katie Miller’s domain, partying with the least popular and most cruel administration in recent memory. On this episode, Jared and Mike welcome Madeline Peltz, an independent journalist who covers right-wing media, to dig into Vanity Fair’s portrait of Katie Miller as MAGA Washington’s deeply hated hostess. Madeline and the boys also run through a cast of other unsavory MAGA characters, including Andrew Tate, who allegedly possessed eel porn; “Dad Chat” daddy Joshua Lisec, who won’t let Madeline into his event; Megyn Kelly, who wants you to know how ugly sexual assault victims are; and Michael Tracey (again), who went to Cornell to shout at people while dressed like sentient body odor. So, throw your tap water in the garbage like Michael Tracey’s request for time. There are no “brokies” on Posting Through It. We are now en route to white boy heaven.
