Jay Leno on Surviving a 190 MPH Spin-Out in a Porsche Carrera GT

Spike and Jay Leno sit down for a wide-open conversation covering the Audrain Concours, manual transmission supercars, a live Rolls-Royce Spectre giveaway, and whether Porsche's next hypercar should pack a flat-eight or a V10. Plus: Biden's 1967 Corvette, the White House burger that let Jay down, and the Carrera GT clutch that has humbled everyone who has touched it. ______________________________________________ Join us for the live Festivus episode and car show in LA! https://www.x1entertainment.com/scr-losangeles 🛠️ RaceDeck - Transform Your Garage Get 15% off garage flooring! https://RaceDeck.com/SCR 🫧 Meguiar's - 125 Years of Passion Premium products to clean, restore, and protect your vehicle https://meguiarsdirect.com/collections/new 🔵 BlueChew - Get Bricked Up with BlueChew Gold Buy 2 months of BlueChew Gold, get the 3rd month for FREE with code SPIKE911. The two kick things off with the Audrain Concours in Newport, where a golf cart chase involving military police somehow became a highlight. From there, the conversation moves into why Spike and Jay both believe internal combustion is not going anywhere, with manual transmission supercars making a quiet comeback at both boutique and mainstream automakers. Jay opens up about his decades-long friendship with President Biden, including a garage visit after the loss of Beau Biden and an infamous soggy White House burger. Biden showed up at the Concours with his grandson and his wedding-gift 1967 Corvette, which sends Spike and Jay into a debate about car show judging culture and the difference between checkbook collectors and the guy in Ohio who has babied the same car since high school. The Rolls-Royce Spectre review portion is unlike anything else on YouTube: the actual giveaway car rolls through the garage doors live on camera. Jay spec'd it black-on-black, identical to his personal Spectre, and shares the casino origin story of a 22-year-old security guard who won a Rolls-Royce and then immediately hit a million-dollar slot jackpot ten feet away. They cover Tesla's flying car claims (Jay is skeptical), the Jaguar rebrand reaction, the Cadillac Celestiq Jay actually came around on, and the ideal powertrain for Porsche's Mission S. Jay wants a flat-eight with an optional manual. Spike wants a naturally aspirated V10 like the Carrera GT. Jay also breaks down his 1971 Porsche 911 T, a Sepia Brown survivor he tracked down the old-school way. The Carrera GT clutch gets its own moment, as it should. Jay spun one at 190 mph at Talladega and somehow walked away clean. The car did too. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: contact@neontiger.media 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Introducing Jay Leno 05:28 - Why sports cars will always be ICE 08:15 - Running into Joe Biden at Audrian 15:10 - How to run a car show 22:04 - How to win Jay's Rolls-Royce Spectre 29:10 - Jay on the electric Ferrari and Jaguar 33:59 - Jay on the flying Tesla Roadster 26:17 - Why Jay loves the Porsche Mission S 41:40 - Jay and the Porsche Carrera GT 47:21 - Jay's 1971 Porsche 911 T 49:50 - The Jay Leno Rolls-Royce Spectre 53:26 - Jay's turbine Sheffield watch Learn more about your ad choices. Jerry Seinfeld Crashes Porsche’s Secret Mission S Reveal!

Jerry Seinfeld calls in with a firsthand report on the Porsche Mission S concept launch, then Spike, Jonny, and Zuckerman tear apart Tesla's rocket-thruster Roadster promises, review a $680K electric Defender restomod and the Genesis G90, and recount a helicopter ride with the actual Duke of Richmond. Plus: Jimothy the raccoon is alive, and that's the best news anyone has. ______________________________________________ Join us for the live Festivus episode and car show in LA! https://www.x1entertainment.com/scr-losangeles 🛠️ RaceDeck - Transform Your Garage Get 15% off garage flooring! https://RaceDeck.com/SCR 🛞 Vredestein - Car, SUV, Van, and Light Truck Tires Demand a better tire. Porsche unveiled the 550 Spyder in that same spot in 1953. The Mission S, reportedly born from a pencil sketch just eight months ago, carries fender lines Jerry describes as "a Jaguar through a German lens" and is shaping up to be a dedicated halo car positioned above the 911, something Porsche hasn't attempted since the 928 GTS was put to rest in 1995. From there, Spike, Jonny Lieberman, and Paul Zuckerman dig into the Porsche supercar above 911 question seriously: flat-eight hybrid? Front-wheel electric drive motors? A 917-style fan shroud on top? Then the tone shifts when Tesla's long-delayed Roadster comes back into the news, complete with cold-gas nitrogen thrusters, sub-one-second zero-to-60 claims, and a reservation contract that literally states they do not guarantee the car will ever be delivered or built. They also get a look at the Alef Aeronautics flying car demo video and react accordingly. Two car reviews anchor the second half. First: the Landrovers Pantera Breeze, a bespoke electric Land Rover Defender restomod out of Amsterdam, 600 horsepower across four in-wheel motors, teak and leather inside, Marine Blue outside, and a $680,000 price tag that Spike says is almost justified given how rattle-free the ride is. Almost. Then Jonny runs through the Genesis G90 review: 409 horsepower, an electric supercharger on a twin-turbo V6, and a Chauffeur Mode that uses forward cameras to pre-soften suspension hits before passengers feel them. Genesis G90 chauffeur mode is the real story here and it's genuinely impressive tech for the price against an S-Class or 7 Series. Spike and Paul also recount a weekend at Willow Springs with the Duke of Richmond, judging historic IROC Porsche 911 replicas from a helicopter. The winner had the worst lap time and one eye, lost in a musical theater sword fight. No notes. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: contact@neontiger.media 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Jerry Seinfeld on the Porsche Mission S 06:33 - You Can See Everything 09:26 - What will the Mission S really be? 17:53 - Tesla's flying car is ridiculous 27:11 - The live Festivus episode and car show! 37:35 - Is this the ultimate Land Rover Defender? 46:05 - Genesis G90 review 54:23 - Willow Springs recap 59:25 - Jimothy is alive and well Learn more about your ad choices. SCR is back with Porsche hypercar details, a Bring a Trailer controversy update, and a Porsche 911 Turbo S review that might make you sell everything you own. An 8,000-RPM tachometer on screen has everyone speculating: flat-eight hybrid? 959 styling cues? Nobody knows for sure, but the speculation is half the fun. From there, the panel digs into Porsche's corporate posture shift. Porsche's time as the "poor man's Ferrari" is officially over, and rather than letting things cool off, Porsche plans to raise prices further, with top-end specs already creeping toward $400,000. The hosts debate what that means for buyers, resale values, and whether GT division chief Andreas Preuninger is already packing for Montana. Spike reads an official statement from Marshall Goldman co-owner clarifying the Bring a Trailer shill bidding situation. The statement identifies a former independent contractor's personal account as responsible for the improper bids, and acknowledges Marshall Goldman's failure to revoke account credentials in time. Spike delivers his driving impressions of the 992.2 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in Gentian Blue. Launch control, twin e-turbos, titanium exhaust, and 0-60 times matching a Tesla Model S Plaid. Jonny counters with a measured review of the Mazda MX-5 Miata on Angeles Crest, appreciating the chassis but calling out its 181-hp engine as genuinely slow compared to a used Boxster or GR Corolla. Kai Lermen, formerly of The Quail, joins the garage to walk through the Willow Springs Reimagined event: Petersen Time Attack, vintage motos, Jenson Button, Patrick Long, and a revamped diner. He also teases multi-phase track renovations coming after the show. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: contact@neontiger.media 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Porsche Mission S hypercar 06:00 - Porsches more expensive again 13:43 - BaT shill bidders respond 19:34 - Our 911 Turbo S is here! 29:17 - Mazda MX-5 Miata review 33:11 - Raccoons mistake Cybertruck for dumpster 34:52 - Man named Hitler Mussolini elected mayor 37:21 - Willow Springs Reimagined Learn more about your ad choices. Why the Hell Is McLaren Making an SUV?

Zack Klapman of The Smoking Tire returns for a full hour of new car reviews, spy shots, and a 1971 station wagon face-off nobody asked for but everyone needed. They open with McLaren. The brand has officially confirmed an SUV is coming before 2030, and the crew debates whether it saves them or just dilutes the brand further. They also torch McLaren's newly redesigned wordmark logo. Bentley's Torcal EV announcement gets the full breakdown: 810 hp, 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, 375 miles of range, 16-minute fast charge from 10 to 80 percent, and a $270,000 price tag. Spike reviews the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance, a plug-in hybrid V8 roadster putting out over 800 hp and nearly 1,000 lb-ft of torque. He also shares first impressions of the Ducati Streetfighter V4, a naked superbike with 208 hp, integrated aerodynamic winglets, and a $25,000 price tag that puts exotic supercar performance within reach. Zack runs through the Hyundai Kona Limited in what he calls Difficult Resale Yellow, and Jonny covers the Subaru Outback's practical value while the panel roasts its aggressive plastic cladding. Spy shots of the 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series surface, and Jonny makes a strong case it is built specifically to take the Nurburgring Nordschleife lap record back. Saudi brand Ceer Motors gets introduced with its wedge-shaped EVs. The closing stretch covers the viral story of Snook's Dream Cars museum in Bowling Green, Ohio shutting down over a claimed carburetor mechanic shortage (the panel does not buy it), a 1971 station wagon pick-'em with the Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, 1971 Ford Country Squire, Chevrolet Kingswood Estate, and Chrysler Town and Country. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: contact@neontiger.media 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Introducing Zack Klapman 03:04 - Why is McLaren making a SUV? 07:53 - McLaren's controversial new logo 10:34 - Bentley is making an EV? 20:30 - AMG SL 63 SE Performance showcase 23:11 - Ducati Streetfighter V4 review 25:50 - Hyundai Kona Limited review 28:34 - Subaru Outback review 33:23 - AMG GT Black Series spyshots 36:09 - Saudi Arabia's INSANE looking EVs 43:29 - Battle of the stationwagons 46:52 - Ridiculous car controversies Learn more about your ad choices.
