How a Believer Responds to Financial Hardship | PODCAST | Sh. Ahmed Umar #AMAU

A man told the Sheikh he had $240,000 available on credit cards. After losing his job, he returned with $40,000 in debt. But what if you always pay your card off on time? Why does the Sheikh still warn against it? In Episode 2 of The Believer's Response, Sheikh Ahmed Umar joins Brother Shahid Hassan to discuss the money decisions facing Muslim households: buying a home, paying for university and finding better ways to earn without relying on Riba. They examine the Prophet's ﷺ guidance on the best ways to earn wealth, overlooked means of increasing rizq, and why helping others matters even when you are struggling yourself. The discussion also asks why financial relief may be delayed despite your du'a, and how to start putting things right if your finances already involve riba. You Promised Allah You Would Change. Did You Mean It? | #4 Stories of Golden Generations of Islam

"This time, I'll change." We say it after a reminder, after a mistake, or when we wish we could begin again. But what happens when we have to follow through? Anas ibn an-Nadr made a promise after missing the Battle of Badr. A Bedouin refused to let wealth distract him from the reason he had followed the Prophet ﷺ. And a prisoner returned knowing he was due to be executed. In Episode 4 of Stories from the Golden Generations of Islam, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble examines truthfulness in our intentions, promises and actions through these three accounts. Their commitments faced extraordinary tests. What do they reveal about the changes we keep promising to make? What Made Scholars Like Ibn Taymiyyah So Great? | #2 Falling in Love With Reading #AMAU

An expert in accounting once learned about his own field from Ibn Taymiyyah. His knowledge reached so far beyond the subjects he is best known for that he was described as a library that could speak. How did the great scholars of Islam reach such a level? In Episode 2 of How to Fall in Love with Reading, Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah discusses Islam's emphasis on reading and seeking knowledge, alongside accounts of the scholars' eagerness to learn. The discussion also turns to Ibn al-Jawzi's warning about a student who becomes impressed with his own opinions, and what this does to his ability to learn from others. The First of Muslims Who Travelled for Knowledge | #2 Travelling in Pursuit of Knowledge #AMAU

Who travelled in search of knowledge before the scholars of Hadith? The answer takes us back to the Prophets. An early scholar was also asked whether Allah had mentioned the people of Hadith in the Qur'an. He answered yes, pointing to an ayah. What was it? In Episode 2 of Travelling in Pursuit of Knowledge, Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah traces these foundations in the Qur'an and Sunnah before beginning Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi's Rihlah fi Talab Al-Hadith. The discussion also turns to the Salaf's intentions: why they set out to seek knowledge, what they hoped to gain, and what their journeys teach us about our own reasons for studying Islam. Surah Yunus on Finding Your Way Back | #5 Tadabbur Series | Sheikh Mohamed Eid Almuhairi #AMAU

A person memorises the Qur'an. He reminds others of Allah. Then one day, people hear that he has walked away from it all. How does someone who once seemed so firm lose his way? In Episode 5 of the Tadabbur series, Sheikh Mohamed Eid Almuhairi continues through Surah Yunus, where the verses move from people who notice Allah's signs in the smallest things to people who remain heedless even when the signs are all around them. Then the questions become harder. Can your own actions put your guidance at risk? Why do you ask Allah for the straight path every day when you are already Muslim? And what does it say about a person who begs Allah through a hardship, only to forget Him as soon as it ends? Surah Yunus asks you to look at what happened to those before you. Then it asks what you are doing with the guidance you have now. What Will You Say When Allah Asks About Your Knowledge? | #13 Ta'iyyah Abu Ishaq al-Ilbiri

In a blackout, the person holding the light becomes easy to notice. Knowledge can place you in a similar position: people begin to look at you, praise you and assume they know what you are worth. But the people praising you may neither truly know you nor understand what knowledge really is. And their praise will mean very little when you stand before Allah and are asked what you did with everything you learnt. In Episode 13 of the Ta'iyyah of Abi Ishaq al-Ilbiri, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble explores the responsibility that comes with knowledge and the test that can begin once a person becomes recognised for it. You may know how much you have studied. Other people may know how knowledgeable you appear. But what will you say when Allah asks about your knowledge?
