I have been a listener for eight years and, whereas I once believed him to be an earnest and fact based commentator, his recent flip-flops on tariffs and argumentative dishonesty on Iran have prompted me to unfollow him. Omissions of obvious facts such as purchasing power parity and price striation regarding tariffs when he recanted of his criticism of them leads me to believe he no longer sees the criticism as worth the potential loss of access to the Administration. Meanwhile the blatant dodge of criticism about Trump saying he would target desalination plants as not a war crime because electrical plants can be legitimate targets while talking about the moral righteousness of abandoning Europe to a closed Strait of Hormuz in the same podcast as a discussion on Just War doctrine with Bishop Barren tells me Ben has become outcome oriented. This is utterly inconsistent with his message of “principles matter.” As such, I’m out.

I used to listen to Ben daily. But over time he has become more dogmatic and biased towards his own political views. Obviously he knows his audience is dwindling. So he has resorted to clickbait topics. Used to like him. But honestly can’t stand him know.
