Join this channel to get access to our two bonus shows each week: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYO4pKCDPdqlsUfDOtuq-zQ/join Dan, Matt, and Manu react to the weekend’s Bundesliga action from the Allianz Arena, built around the 2-2 Klassiker between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Manu was at the stadium, and Dan wasn’t. Dan joked that his own record at Bayern vs Dortmund games is so bad he should stay away. Matt reports from Leverkusen on Stuttgart’s 4-2 win. The game had six goals, two mass brawls, and nine yellow cards. Manuel also tells the story of 1860 Munich’s 94th-minute win at Buchbach and the beer-fuelled night that followed. The main part covers the Klassiker. A Dortmund goal was ruled out for a foul on the keeper. Harry Kane missed a penalty, then set up a goal for Dayot Upamecano. Fabio Silva’s late equalizer made it 2-2, and Manu joked it was all down to Kane’s gold-studded boots. Bayern lost Ismael Saibari, Serge Gnabry, and Michael Olise to injury, with Luis Diaz and Vincent Kompany already out, and Kimmich still spoke to the media after a hard week. They also look at Niclas Füllkrug’s scoring run for Bremen and Leipzig’s strong start. They close on why a tighter title race, with Dortmund holding Bayern, is good for the Bundesliga. Three Games to Watch: Klassiker Showdown, Betzenberg Heat and a 3. Liga Derby

Join this channel to get access to our two bonus shows each week: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYO4pKCDPdqlsUfDOtuq-zQ/join Manu picks the three games he’s watching this German football weekend, in kickoff order. 1. FC Kaiserslautern vs Hertha BSC (2. Bundesliga): Kaiserslautern sit third with 18 points. They play a conservative style under Thorsten Lieberknecht, and promotion is the ambition. Manu looks at the Betzenberg atmosphere, players to watch like Mario Sauer, and a mixed head-to-head against a Hertha side doing well under Stefan Leitl. Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga): The two clubs are level on 17 points at the top. Manu has doubts about the “Klassiker” label, but this one might earn it. He covers recent results, injury news on both sides, including Vincent Kompany’s recovery, and Harry Kane’s expected return with a small ceremony planned. 1. FC Saarbrücken vs SV Waldhof Mannheim (3. Liga): A derby between fourth-placed Saarbrücken and Mannheim on 16 points. Manu explains the regional geography, why Mannheim is a hockey town, and what 52 past meetings say about the rivalry. What’s gone wrong at Stuttgart? Bayern pass Freiburg test

Join this channel to get access to our two bonus shows each week: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYO4pKCDPdqlsUfDOtuq-zQ/join Bayern were 3-1 winners at Freiburg, but the scoreline hides the real story: a week of chaos, injuries, illness, and emotional fallout that turned a routine Bundesliga match into something far more revealing. If you want to understand what this result actually says about Vincent Kompany's squad, Freiburg's progress, and the title race, this is the conversation to hear. Stefan and Dan unpack a Bayern win built on togetherness rather than control, from Dayot Upamecano's absurd solo goal to the tense late spell when Freiburg pushed Bayern to the edge. They dig into the impact of Kompany's sudden absence, Joshua Kimmich's bereavement leave, the injuries to Jamal Musiala, Manuel Neuer, Luis Diaz, and Aleksandar Pavlovic, and why Bayern's bench still had enough quality to survive. You will also hear why Freiburg are becoming harder to dismiss, even in defeat. The discussion gets into their improving underlying numbers, the chances they are creating against top sides, Julian Schuster's coaching, and whether a top-four or even Champions League push is now realistic. There is also a sharp look at the refereeing calls that shaped the late stages, including the disputed penalty shout and the physical edge Bayern got away with. Then the episode shifts to Stuttgart's shock 3-2 loss to Gladbach, where 17-year-old winger Wael Mohya stole the show with a fearless performance that lit up one of the league's biggest clubs. Stefan and Dan break down why Stuttgart are suddenly looking overloaded, under-motivated, and strangely short of answers despite their talent, and why Sebastian Hoeneß may be confronting his first real crisis. Can Anyone Stop Füllkrug? Plus Dortmund’s Hard-Fought Three Points

Join this channel to get access to our two bonus shows each week: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYO4pKCDPdqlsUfDOtuq-zQ/join Dortmund are grinding again, and this is exactly the kind of ugly, crucial win Nico Kovac will love. With injuries piling up and Bayern suddenly looking vulnerable, a 1-0 over Frankfurt could prove far more important than the scoreline suggests. Stefan, Dan, Manu, and Matt break down a Saturday full of tension, frustration, and a few major warning signs. At Dortmund, Dan is on the ground as Nico Kovac’s side lean on a second-half adjustment, a timely Maxi Beier strike, and a winning formula built on discipline rather than spectacle. Stefan and Dan unpack what that says about Dortmund’s title push, why Frankfurt looked dangerous early before fading badly, and how Adi Hütter is trying to reshape a team still searching for its identity after major upheaval. Matt and Manu then shift to Cologne, where a bleak 0-0 with Schalke turns into a bigger conversation about chance creation, fan frustration, and a serious first-half head collision that sparks an important discussion about how football treats head injuries. From there, the show flips to the more entertaining side of the Bundesliga: RB Leipzig’s home form, Werder Bremen’s brilliant start, and Niclas Füllkrug’s relentless scoring streak, which is quickly becoming impossible for Jürgen Klopp and Germany to ignore. If you want sharp reaction, tactical context, and the bigger stories hiding inside the weekend’s results, this one is essential listening. Perfect for Bundesliga fans who want more than scorelines, and for anyone trying to figure out which early-season trends are real before the table starts to settle. Enjoy. Rostock vs Düsseldorf, Nürnberg vs Kaiserslautern and Freiburg vs Bayern - Three Games to Watch

Join this channel to get access to our two bonus shows each week: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYO4pKCDPdqlsUfDOtuq-zQ/join A promotion race with real stakes, a striker injury that changes everything, and a Freiburg-Bayern showdown that could shake up the top of the Bundesliga. If you want the smartest 90 seconds of matchday context before you choose what to watch, this is the episode to hear. Manu picks three fixtures across the 3. Liga, 2. Bundesliga, and Bundesliga that matter right now - not because they are the biggest names on paper, but because the storylines are too good to ignore. First up is Hansa Rostock vs Fortuna Düsseldorf, where two clubs with big fanbases, Bundesliga history, and early-season frustration meet at the Ostseestadion. Manuel breaks down why both sides are already under pressure, why goal difference is telling a bigger story than the table alone, and why this one says a lot about where each club really stands. Then it is onto 1. FC Nürnberg vs 1. FC Kaiserslautern, a second-division heavyweight clash with real promotion implications. You will hear why Nürnberg’s attack looks different without injured star striker Alì Zoma, how Miroslav Klose is forced to solve a new tactical problem, and which names - from Piet Scobel, William Bøving, Sigurd Haugen, and others - could decide the night. Finally, Manuel sets up the weekend’s real Bundesliga headline act: Freiburg vs Bayern Munich. Freiburg are close enough to dream of going top, Bayern arrive battered by injuries, and the long wait for a league win over Bayern adds real tension to the fixture. Add in Freiburg’s growing reputation as a team that can trouble anyone, and this becomes far more than a routine Sunday match. You’ll discover: - why Hansa Rostock vs Fortuna Düsseldorf is a bigger game than its league position suggests - how goal difference is exposing the real shape of the 3. Liga - what Nürnberg must do after losing Mohamed Alì Zoma - why Kaiserslautern still look like a club built for the top flight -whether Freiburg can finally break their Bundesliga curse against Bayern Essential listening if you follow German football and want the smartest preview of the weekend’s most intriguing games. Manu is the host of Gegenpressing, the Bundesliga podcast, known for sharp tactical context and league-wide analysis across German football. He tracks the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, and 3. Liga with a focus on what the table does not always show. Enjoy!
