When God Is Not Part Of Your Plans - Isaiah 2:1-4:1

What happens when we leave God out of our plans and exalt ourselves instead? In this study of Isaiah 2–4, Pastor Tim Hatch shows how human pride sets us on a collision course with God—and how the answer isn't trying harder, but letting God lead. Welcome to Episode 2 of The First Gospel: Knowing Jesus Through the Prophecies of Isaiah, a 40-episode Deep Dive Bible Study exploring the ancient prophecies of Isaiah and how they point to Jesus Christ. In Isaiah 2:1–4:1, Isaiah lifts our eyes to the mountain of the Lord, where one day the nations will stream to worship and "beat their swords into plowshares." But Judah was living the opposite story—prosperous, self-reliant, full of idols and foreign alliances, leaving God out of their plans. Isaiah warns of the Day of the Lord, when everything proud and lofty will be brought low and "the Lord alone will be exalted." Chapters 3 and 4 trace the collapse that follows self-rule—and then the hope that remains: the Branch of the Lord, a holy remnant, and God's promise to shelter and lead His people once again. In this episode, discover: • Why leaving God out of our plans is the root of so much of our brokenness. • What the "mountain of the Lord" reveals about God's ultimate purpose for the nations. • How the Day of the Lord exposes and humbles human pride. • Why prosperity and self-sufficiency can quietly push God to the margins. • What the "Branch of the Lord" in Isaiah 4 points to—and how it leads us to Jesus. • How God's promise to lead His people frees us from the exhausting work of leading ourselves. Isaiah calls us to stop exalting our own plans and let God lead—because the God who humbles the proud is the same God who shelters and restores a remnant. 📖 SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 2:1–4:1 (ESV) 📘 GET THE FIRST GOSPEL COMPANION JOURNAL Deepen your study of Isaiah with the companion devotional and journal, featuring Scripture readings, reflection questions, and space for personal prayer. https://timhatchlive.com/books ▶️ ABOUT THE FIRST GOSPEL Join Pastor Tim Hatch for a 40-episode Bible study through Isaiah. Why Are Adults Refusing to Grow Up? Madonna, Kidults & the Toy Boom

Why are so many adults refusing to grow up? Adults are becoming one of the fastest-growing forces in the toy industry, millions are turning to childhood nostalgia for comfort, and even celebrity culture seems obsessed with staying forever young. From the booming “kidult” toy market to Madonna at the 2026 MTV VMAs, Pastor Tim Hatch asks a bigger question: What happened to adulthood? In this episode of The Deep End, Pastor Tim examines the rise of kidulting—adults buying toys, collecting childhood favorites, sleeping with stuffed animals, watching cartoons, and returning to nostalgic hobbies for comfort, community, stress relief, and escape. But the toy aisle is only the beginning. As U.S. birth rates fall, Americans delay marriage and parenthood, loneliness increases, and fewer households include children, Pastor Tim explores whether the kidult boom reflects something deeper: a culture increasingly anxious about the future and tempted to retreat into the security of the past. The conversation also turns to Madonna and the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, celebrity culture’s obsession with youth, the psychology of nostalgia, adult LEGO and collectibles, stuffed animals and mental health, the rising cost of starting a family, declining fertility, and the difference between enjoying a childhood hobby and refusing the responsibilities of adulthood. And there’s an important distinction: owning LEGO, playing drums, collecting toys, or enjoying an old hobby doesn’t make someone immature. The deeper question is where we look for comfort, security, belonging, identity, and purpose—and whether fear is keeping us from moving forward. What does the Bible say about growing up? Jesus calls us to become childlike—but not childish. Biblical maturity isn't simply about age, income, marriage, children, or whether you own toys. It means learning to trust God, take responsibility, love others sacrificially, build meaningful relationships, and move toward the future God has called us to rather than living in the past. - Why adults are buying more toys - The rise of “kidults” and kidulting - Toys, plushies, LEGO, nostalgia, and mental health - Why adults are sleeping with stuffed animals - Madonna and the 2026 MTV VMAs - Celebrity culture and the obsession with staying young - Loneliness, anxiety, comfort, and community - Declining U.S. birth and fertility rates - Delayed marriage, parenthood, and homeownership - Why nostalgia can become an escape - Family, responsibility, and biblical adulthood - Childishness vs. becoming childlike - Where Christians should find comfort, security, and belonging The world is trying to solve a God-sized ache with child-sized toys. The comfort you're looking for is found in Christ. The security you're looking for is found in Him. The belonging you're looking for is found in His Church. You don't have to go backward to childhood to find peace—you can move forward toward the Father. So grow up—and come home. 👍 Like this episode, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs to hear this conversation. ▶ Be part of sharing the Truth: Support Tim Hatch Live 💥 Become a monthly partner and receive exclusive channel perks: Tim Hatch Live Patreon 20% of all giving is tithed back out to the American Bible Society and Project Rescue.

The True Nature Of The Human Problem - Isaiah 1:1-31

What if your greatest problem isn't your circumstances or your behavior—but a condition within your heart that only God can heal? In this Isaiah 1 Bible study, Pastor Tim Hatch reveals the true nature of sin, why religious performance cannot save us, and how God promises to make our scarlet sins white as snow. Welcome to Episode 1 of The First Gospel: Knowing Jesus Through the Prophecies of Isaiah, a 40-episode Deep Dive Bible Study exploring the ancient prophecies of Isaiah and how they point to Jesus Christ. In Isaiah 1:1–31, God brings a case against His own people. Judah was prosperous, religiously active, and outwardly successful, yet spiritually corrupt. Through powerful imagery, Isaiah reveals that sin is more than bad behavior. It is a condition of the human heart that no amount of religious activity or self-improvement can cure. But Isaiah's opening chapter doesn't end with judgment. In Isaiah 1:18, God extends an extraordinary invitation: though our sins are like scarlet, they can become white as snow. In this episode, discover: • Why prosperity can be more spiritually dangerous than suffering. • How sin affects our hearts, minds, and relationship with God. • Why God rejected Israel's sacrifices and empty religious worship. • What Isaiah 1:18 really means when God promises to make scarlet sins white as snow. • How God's refining work leads to repentance and restoration. • How Isaiah chapter 1 points to Jesus Christ and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah reveals the depth of our need for a Savior—and introduces us to the God who invites us to come to Him. 📖 SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 1:1–31 (ESV) 📘 GET THE FIRST GOSPEL COMPANION JOURNAL Deepen your study of Isaiah with the companion devotional and journal, featuring Scripture readings, reflection questions, and space for personal prayer. https://timhatchlive.com/books ▶️ ABOUT THE FIRST GOSPEL Join Pastor Tim Hatch for a 40-episode Bible study through Isaiah. 2,000 People. 122 Baptisms. What Happened in Providence?

More than 2,000 people gathered in Providence, Rhode Island, for one night of outdoor worship, prayer, and the Gospel. By the end of the night, 122 people had been baptized. But the numbers are only part of the story. Pastor Tim Hatch is joined by Pastor Jody Bowden and Josh Rivera to revisit Waters Church's Worship Under the Stars event at Roger Williams Park on September 19, 2026. Hear the remarkable testimonies from a night when people from different churches and communities came together to worship Jesus. From a food-truck worker who decided to get baptized to young people whose lives are being changed through an after-school Bible club, these stories remind us why the Church must take the Gospel beyond its walls. • How Worship Under the Stars brought thousands together in Providence • The stories behind 122 baptisms, including spontaneous decisions • Why young people are hungry for God • The role of prayer, fasting, and the Holy Spirit • Why evangelism must extend beyond Sunday services • How churches can work together to reach their communities This wasn't simply an event to grow Waters Church. The mission was to make Jesus known in Providence and encourage Christians everywhere to bring the Good News to their own communities. Has your church hosted an outdoor worship or evangelism event? The Book of Enoch: Was It Really Removed From the Bible?

Was the Book of Enoch really removed from the Bible? And does this ancient text reveal hidden truths about fallen angels, the Nephilim, UFOs, Antarctica, and secrets the government doesn't want you to know? The Book of Enoch is exploding across social media, fueled by claims that it was deliberately removed from the Bible because it contains information about supernatural beings, forbidden technology, and mysteries hidden from humanity. The controversy gained attention after Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna discussed alleged interdimensional beings, government UFO investigations, and the Book of Enoch during podcast appearances. But what does the Book of Enoch actually say—and was it ever removed from the Bible? In this episode of The Deep End, Pastor Tim Hatch separates the biblical and historical evidence from viral conspiracy theories. Tim examines claims connecting Enoch, fallen angels, the Watchers, Nephilim, UFOs, NASA and Antarctica, including theories about supernatural beings imprisoned beneath the Antarctic ice. Then we tackle the bigger questions: Who decided which books belong in the Bible? Why isn't Enoch in most Christian Bibles? And if Enoch isn't Scripture, why does Jude quote it? Tim examines the Old Testament canon, the dating of 1 Enoch, the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Jude 14–15, and whether quoting an ancient source makes the entire book inspired Scripture. • Was the Book of Enoch really removed from the Bible? • Anna Paulina Luna, Enoch & interdimensional beings • Does Enoch describe aliens or advanced technology? • Fallen angels, the Watchers & Nephilim • Genesis 6 and the “sons of God” • Enoch, Antarctica & the supposed frozen prison • NASA, ANITA & mysterious Antarctic radio signals • What the Book of Enoch actually contains • Why isn't Enoch in most Christian Bibles? • The Ethiopian Orthodox Church & Enoch • How the biblical canon developed • Why Jude quotes the Book of Enoch • The Dead Sea Scrolls & Enoch • Can Christians trust the Bible we have today? The deeper question isn't simply, “What books were left out of the Bible?” It's this: What are we doing with the Bible that's already in our hands? Before chasing secret knowledge, hidden books and viral theories, Christians should know the Word God has already given us. 📖 GET THE ISAIAH DEVOTIONAL JOURNAL Get your copy of Pastor Tim Hatch’s Isaiah devotional journal and follow along with the upcoming Bible study through the book of Isaiah. Why Is America Cheering for Lindsay Clancy?

Why is America cheering for Lindsay Clancy? As the Lindsay Clancy trial nears a verdict, supporters are rallying behind the Massachusetts mother who killed her three young children—Cora Clancy, Dawson Clancy, and Callan Clancy. The case has ignited a national debate over postpartum psychosis, mental illness, criminal responsibility, justice, motherhood, and accountability. Was Lindsay Clancy suffering from postpartum psychosis that left her not criminally responsible for her actions? Did the medical system fail her? Or are we allowing compassion for mental illness to erase personal responsibility for horrific acts? In this episode of The Deep End, Pastor Tim Hatch examines the strongest arguments being made in Lindsay Clancy's defense before responding to them from a Christian and biblical worldview. Tim examines Clancy's reported postpartum psychosis diagnosis, alleged command hallucinations, psychiatric treatment and medications, her stay at McLean Hospital, testimony from medical professionals, and the argument that doctors and the mental-health system failed her. He also looks at the growing pro-Lindsay Clancy movement: supporters gathering outside the courthouse, the “I am Lindsay” sentiment spreading on social media, and women identifying their own experiences with motherhood, depression, anger, and mental illness with Clancy's case. But Tim argues that Christians must ask a deeper question: Does mental illness eliminate moral responsibility? What does the Bible say about the human mind, evil, personal accountability, demonic influence, justice, and the shedding of innocent blood? From King Saul and Nebuchadnezzar to Judas and the demon-possessed man of the Gerasenes, Tim examines how Scripture treats mental disturbance, human depravity, spiritual darkness, and accountability before God. The episode also explores what could happen if Lindsay Clancy is found not criminally responsible, whether she could eventually be released from a psychiatric facility, and what her case could mean for the way our culture thinks about justice. Whatever the jury ultimately decides, Tim argues that legal responsibility and biblical accountability are not necessarily the same thing**. Amid the national attention surrounding Lindsay Clancy, Christians cannot forget the three children at the center of this case: Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months. Is our culture becoming so focused on explaining the actions of offenders that we're losing our ability to recognize evil, defend innocent victims, and demand accountability? Celebrating Murder is the Latest Social Media Craze

Why are people online celebrating Luigi Mangione and Lindsay Clancy—and what does that have to do with Massachusetts’ new abortion law? In this episode of The Deep End, Pastor Tim Hatch examines a disturbing cultural shift: killers becoming social media celebrities, victims being pushed aside, and sympathy replacing personal responsibility and justice. From the online fandom surrounding Luigi Mangione and the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson to the growing movement supporting Lindsay Clancy, Tim explores “forensic fandom,” victimhood culture, and why people increasingly sympathize with those who take innocent life. Then, Tim examines Gov. Maura Healey’s new Massachusetts abortion law, which changes the requirements for abortions at or after 24 weeks and places the decision within the physician’s professional judgment. What connects these stories? Tim argues that our culture is increasingly struggling to distinguish victim from perpetrator, compassion from moral confusion, and good from evil. “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” — Isaiah 5:20 Topics: Luigi Mangione • Lindsay Clancy • Brian Thompson • Maura Healey • Massachusetts abortion law • late-term abortion • forensic fandom • victimhood culture • biblical worldview The Deep End with Pastor Tim Hatch examines news, politics, and culture through a biblical worldview. ––––––––––––––– 🎙 The Deep End Podcast with Tim Hatch Faith.
