    June 6, 2023 - Regional Sweep

The Texas Longhorns are once again finding their stride on the diamond after going 3-0 in the Coral Gables regional and advancing to the Super Regional once again, making it one step closer to a return trip to Omaha. Texas seemingly put it all together on the road, highlighted by a career pitching performance in game two and a huge offensive explosion in game 3 to seal the deal. Now Texas heads to Palo Alto to take on Stanford, the only other team left in the tournament that made it to the College World Series a year ago.

We also take a look at how Dillon Mitchell's return impacts the basketball team next year and dive in on the commitment of blue chip quarterback KJ Lacey to kick off the summer recruiting season.

    June 1, 2023 - Postseason Roundup

    June 1, 2023 - Postseason Roundup

The Texas Longhorns were in action across the postseason landscape, with baseball, softball, track and field, rowing, golf, and tennis all competing for team and individual championships at both the conference and national levels. It wasn't as successful of a weekend as it has been in years past. Still, there's plenty to take pride in as Texas officially becomes one of just two schools in the country to send a team to the postseason in football, baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball, and softball for the 2022-23 academic year.

We cruise through the results, as well as some staffing moves, roster updates, and run down the recently-released game times so you can start planning your fall. All that, plus our streaming recommendations in the Godzillatron segment and what we're watching on the national sports landscape as we Bang the Drum.

May 24, 2023 - Top Seed in the Big 12 Tournament

May 24, 2023 - Top Seed in the Big 12 Tournament

The Texas Longhorns needed to sweep the West Virginia Mountaineers to get a share of the Big 12 title and did just that, locking down the top seed in the conference tournament with the help of the Oklahoma Sooners. Now, Texas is in prime position to not only claim another title but position itself to host a regional with a few good wins in the Big 12 Tournament.

We also dive in on the softball team's big winning weekend, men's tennis and women's golf falling short in the NCAA Tournament, some basketball roster updates, and of course our streaming recommendations in Godzillatron.

    May 18, 2023 - Previewing West Virginia

The Texas Longhorns had opportunities earlier in the season to better position themselves for the close of the year. Now they face a must-win situation if they want to claim a regular season conference title and the top seed in the Big 12 tournament. The WVU Mountaineers are one of the most talented teams in the conference and have switched up their pitching rotation in hopes to win one game this weekend and claim the conference crown.

Elsewhere, the tennis and golf teams make their run at national championships, while the track team brought home more hardware ahead of their run at the title.

    May 10, 2023 - Baseball Tops Kansas

    May 10, 2023 - Baseball Tops Kansas

It was a relatively successful week for the Texas Longhorns on the diamond, taking the series from the Kansas Jayhawks and keeping themselves alive for a regular season conference title. Lebarron Johnson had a stellar start on Saturday, helping Texas right the ship after a disastrous season opener on Friday, earning himself Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for his efforts. Texas managed to hold off Kansas on Sunday and get a needed conference win with just one series left on the schedule.

The ladies went to Waco and suffered a season-closing sweep at the hands of the Baylor softball team, setting up a conference tournament opener against Texas Tech. Both the men's and the women's tennis teams advanced to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, with hopes to take it back to Florida for a chance at the national championship.

May 3, 2023 - The Eyes on Texas with Ryan Nanni

This week's show features a special guest, Ryan Nanni of The Shutdown Fullcast, to discuss how and why the Texas Longhorns are viewed from a national perspective. We also dive in on what, if anything, the school and fans can do to shift that narrative, what Texas and Oklahoma need to do when they join the SEC, and who he would pick to represent the Florida Gators in a battle of Ministers of Culture.

We also unpack how we think the fits are for the Longhorns who found themselves drafted, baseball's chances at surging forward in the conference standings, the track team's incredible performance, and what we're watching and reading this week.

Burnt Orange Nations far left wing support indicated by their advertising has completely turned me off and many others like me. Stick to sports. Will never read or listen again.
