The Kind of Church Our Communities Are Waiting For // Sean Badeer

The Kind of Church Our Communities Are Waiting For asks a bigger question than whether church still matters: What kind of church does your community actually need? People around you are searching for hope, real friendships, and a sense of purpose. And while many may feel disconnected from church, that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped searching for something more. In this message, guest speaker Sean Badeer shares a vision for the kind of church our communities are waiting for—a church that is Jesus-centered, others-focused, and outward-facing. You’ll discover: • Why spiritual hunger can exist even when people feel disconnected from church • How Jesus offers hope in the middle of uncertainty and hopelessness • Why real relationships require us to “cover the distance” toward others • How serving your community can change you, too • Why an outward-facing church gives people opportunities to find purpose • How God may be inviting you to move toward people you wouldn’t normally move toward Following Jesus isn’t about waiting for people to come to us. It’s about meeting people where they are, building genuine relationships, bringing peace, and showing them through our lives that God is FOR them. So ask yourself: Where is God inviting you to move with Him? Who could you invite, encourage, serve, or simply get to know? The kind of church our communities are waiting for begins when ordinary people choose to move toward others with the hope and love of Jesus. 📖 Scripture: Romans 15:13; 1 Corinthians 9:22–23; Ephesians 3:10–11 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. Becoming Outward-Facing // Jarrod Martin

Becoming Outward-Facing means learning to notice the people you might naturally overlook. If you want to become more like Jesus, that includes becoming aware of the people around you—even those who think, live, believe, or act differently than you. We all have biases and blind spots. The question is what we do with them. Throughout the book of Acts, we see God repeatedly bringing outsiders into His family. Philip shares Jesus with a sorcerer in Samaria. He approaches an Ethiopian official who comes from a completely different background. And Ananias is asked to walk toward Saul—the very person he had every reason to fear. Each story points to the same truth: God specializes in bringing outsiders into His family. In this message, Becoming Outward-Facing, we explore what these stories can teach you about seeing people the way Jesus does and joining God in what He is already doing around you. You’ll discover: • Why your blind spots can affect the way you see other people • What the early church teaches us about including outsiders • How Philip and Ananias moved beyond barriers and biases • Why following Jesus means paying attention to people who aren't like you • How a simple invitation can make a bigger difference than you realize • Why you may be the answer to someone else’s prayer You don’t need all the answers. You don’t need the perfect words. Becoming outward-facing can begin with something much simpler: noticing someone, caring about them, and being willing to say, “Come sit with me.” So ask yourself this week: Who have you been unintentionally ignoring that God wants you to notice? Maybe it’s someone at work who has completely disengaged from church. Maybe it’s a friend who has lost hope that Jesus cares. Maybe it’s another family you see every week at your kids’ activities. You may be one of the workers someone else has been praying for. Our hope is to become a movement of people who remain Jesus-centered, others-focused, and outward-facing—because God is FOR the people in our communities, and we want them to know we are FOR them too. 📖 Scripture: Acts 8:9–13, Acts 8:26–38, Acts 9:10–15 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. Becoming Others-Focused // Jarrod Martin

Becoming Others-Focused is one of the simplest ways to grow closer to God. Jesus connected loving God with loving your neighbor—and when you focus on the people around you, something changes in you too. Sometimes we make following Jesus more complicated than it needs to be. We study more, listen to more messages, and try harder to get everything right. Those things can be good, but Jesus gave us a surprisingly practical way to become more Jesus-centered: love your neighbor as yourself. In this message from Matthew 22:37–39, we look at why becoming others focused isn't just about being a good person. It's about learning to love what God loves. You’ll discover: • Why loving others helps you grow closer to God • How becoming others focused keeps you Jesus-centered • What Jesus meant by “love your neighbor as yourself” • Why focusing only on yourself can quietly pull you off course • How generosity can train your heart to think about others • How the Annual FOR Offering meets real needs in our communities and beyond Jesus didn’t separate loving God from loving people. He connected them. When you notice someone else's needs, serve without expecting something in return, or give generously to help your neighbors, you're putting the love of Jesus into action. That’s what the Annual FOR Offering is all about: practicing no-strings-attached generosity and helping real people through local organizations, schools, community projects, new churches, and ministry partners. You don't have to make getting closer to God complicated. Start with the people around you. Love your neighbor. Serve someone. Give generously. Become others focused. Because staying others-focused keeps us Jesus-centered. 📖 Scripture: Matthew 22:37–39 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. Becoming Jesus-Centered // Jarrod Martin

Becoming Jesus-Centered means more than going to church, reading your Bible, praying, or trying harder. Those things matter—but you can do all the “right” things and still wonder, *Why don’t I feel closer to God?* Jesus gives us a surprisingly simple answer in John 14:5–9: if you want to know God, get to know Jesus. But knowing about Jesus isn’t the same as knowing Him. In this message, we explore what it really means to build a relationship with Jesus that is transformational, not transactional. Becoming Jesus-centered means moving beyond collecting information about Jesus and beginning to live with His values, priorities, and love at the center of your everyday life. You’ll discover: * Why doing all the “right” spiritual things can still leave you feeling stuck * The difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Him * What Jesus meant when He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” * Why getting closer to God requires more than showing up on Sunday * What may be competing with Jesus for the center of your life * How taking your next step can deepen your relationship with God Maybe comfort has become central. Maybe it’s your phone, your paycheck, your status, your security, or simply trying to handle everything on your own. Becoming Jesus-centered doesn’t mean becoming perfect. It means making a choice, one step at a time, to move something else out of the way so you can move Jesus toward the center. If your faith has felt stale, confusing, or disconnected lately, your answer may not be trying harder. Your next step may simply be getting to know Jesus in a deeper, more personal way. 📖 Scripture: John 14:5–9 👉 Learn more, find your next step, or connect with us at journeycalloway.com. 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. A New Foundation // Jarrod Martin

A New Foundation | Have your past failures become the foundation of how you see yourself? Maybe the voice in your head keeps reminding you that you're not good enough, you don't belong, or you'll never measure up. But what if that voice isn't telling you the truth? In Week 3 of our Fixer Upper series, we explore the difference between guilt and shame—and why Jesus doesn't just forgive your failures. He gives you a brand-new foundation for your identity. You'll discover: • The difference between guilt and shame • Why shame convinces you that you're unworthy of love and belonging • What Romans 8 teaches about living free from condemnation • How Jesus gives you a new identity instead of asking you to earn one • Why God's love is stronger than the voice of shame • How a secure identity leads to a more joyful, purposeful life Many of us spend our lives trying to outrun our past, prove our worth, or hide behind a carefully crafted image. But no amount of success, approval, or achievement can silence shame. The good news is that Jesus doesn't simply patch up your life—He rebuilds it from the foundation up. When you begin to believe what God says about you instead of what shame says about you, everything changes. You become free to admit your failures, grow through them, and experience the life Jesus has been inviting you into all along. This week, every time that inner voice tells you you're not enough, pause and read Romans 8:31–33. Let God's truth become louder than your shame. Because your identity isn't built on your failures—it's built on God's love. 📖 Scripture: Romans 8 • 1 Timothy 1:15 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. Taking Off The Weight // Jarrod Martin

Taking Off The Weight | What if the weight you've been carrying isn't stress or exhaustion—but guilt? Whether it's something you did years ago or something that happened this week, unresolved guilt has a way of following you into every relationship. The good news is that Jesus offers a better way. In Week 2 of our Fixer Upper series, we discover how confession isn't about piling on shame—it's about experiencing freedom. God doesn't use guilt to manipulate you. He invites you to bring it into the light so you can be healed. You'll discover: • Why guilt feels like carrying a heavy debt • How unresolved guilt affects your relationships • What the Bible really teaches about confession • Why confessing to the people you've hurt brings healing • How Jesus removes the weight of guilt once and for all • Practical steps to begin restoring broken relationships Many of us spend years hiding, minimizing, or justifying the things we regret. But ignoring guilt doesn't make it disappear—it only allows the damage to grow beneath the surface. The apostle John reminds us that God is light. When we step into His light with honesty, we find forgiveness, healing, and the freedom to move forward. Confession isn't about earning God's love. It's about allowing God to transform your heart and restore what has been broken. This week, consider taking these next steps: • Confess your struggle to a trusted friend. • Make a plan to apologize to the person you've hurt. • Make restitution wherever it's possible. Because freedom begins when we stop hiding and start walking in the light. 📖 Scripture: 1 John 1:5–9 • James 5:16 • Romans 10:9 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. How Do You Deal With Loss? // Jarrod Martin

Getting Through It | Loss is inevitable—but you don't have to face it alone. In this message from the Fixer Upper series, we discover why Jesus said, "God blesses those who mourn," and how God meets us with comfort as we walk through life's deepest hurts. Every one of us will experience loss. Sometimes it's the loss of someone we love. Other times it's the loss of a dream, a relationship, our health, a job, or the future we imagined. Our instinct is often to ignore the pain, push through it, or pretend we're okay. But Jesus offers a better way. In Matthew 5:4, Jesus teaches that blessing comes not from avoiding grief, but from honestly walking through it with God and with others. Instead of suppressing our pain, God invites us to confess it to Him, express it in healthy community, and discover the comfort only He can give. In this message, you'll discover: Why grief is a healthy response to loss. The difference between mourning and simply "moving on." How unprocessed pain can keep us emotionally stuck. Why God is especially close to the brokenhearted. How your deepest hurt can become one of the greatest ways God brings hope to someone else. No matter what you're carrying today, you're not alone. Jesus understands grief because He experienced it Himself. And He promises that those who mourn will be comforted. There is hope—even in the middle of heartbreak. Bottom Line: God blesses those who mourn. 📖 Scriptures: Matthew 5:4, Psalm 32:3, Psalm 34:18, Romans 12:15, 2 Corinthians 1:4 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. Is Your Basement Flooded? // Jarrod Martin

Is Your Basement Flooded? Maybe not literally—but what if the stress, anxiety, anger, fear, or exhaustion you're experiencing is a sign that something deeper is happening beneath the surface? Before you can fix what's around you, you may need to deal with what's going on inside you. In the first message of our Fixer Upper series, we discover why the emotions we ignore often become the problems we can't escape. Jesus didn't come to shame us for what's happening in our hearts. He came to shine light on it so we can experience healing, freedom, and lasting peace. You'll discover: • Why your internal struggles affect every relationship in your life • What Jesus meant when He said, "I am the light of the world" • How fear, anxiety, jealousy, shame, and anger act as warning signals • Why your feelings are real—but aren't always telling you the truth • How to identify the lies driving your emotions • The first step toward emotional and spiritual health Whether you're overwhelmed at work, struggling in your marriage, navigating parenting, or simply exhausted from carrying the weight of life, this message offers practical hope. You don't have to pretend everything is fine or ignore what's happening beneath the surface. Jesus doesn't ask you to hide the mess. He invites you to bring it into His light. When you learn to test your emotions against the truth of Jesus instead of letting them lead your life, you begin to experience the peace, purpose, and freedom He promises. This week, ask yourself: • What am I feeling? • What assumptions is this feeling creating? You can trust your feelings to God—but you can't trust your feelings to lead you. 📖 Scripture: John 8:12 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you.
