Building a Living Legacy with Jhanay Marable

We Ain't Dying For This | S3 EP2 - Building a Living Legacy What if legacy isn't the money you leave behind, but the life you create while you're still here? In this episode of We Ain't Dying For This, Crystle Johnson sits down with Jhanay Marable to explore what it really meant to move her family of seven from rural North Carolina to Mérida, Mexico. Together, they discuss: • Why America was costing their family more than money• Redefining legacy beyond wealth and inheritance• Raising five children abroad• Healing through healthcare and motherhood• The importance of breaking generational cycles• Why small decisions can completely change your family's future Whether you're considering moving abroad or simply wondering how to build a healthier life, this conversation will challenge how you think about success, family, and legacy. 🎧 Subscribe for more conversations helping Black women imagine a life that feels safer, freer, and more aligned. I'm Crystle Johnson, founder of Kinory®️, a global social dining community and belonging ecosystem for Black women. I spent over a decade as a DEI leader at Nike, Pandora, and Electronic Arts before building the thing I needed and couldn't find: rooms where Black women don't perform, prove, or shrink. Now I build them full-time, from dinner tables to retreats to a home base in Mérida. If the conversation stayed with you, there's more waiting. Kinory's Liberation Starter Kit (https://bit.ly/liberationstarterkit) is a workbook for the woman who's ready to stop waiting for permission and start choosing herself. When you want to go deeper in person, our next retreat, Belonging, Abroad, is this November in Mérida. And everything else begins at kinory.co. For the Love of Black Women w. Rachel Z. Harris

For the Love of Black Women | We Ain't Dying For This | S3 E1 What does it mean to dream as a Black woman? In the Season 3 premiere, Crystle Johnson sits down with Rachel Z. Harris, founder of Black Woman Sanctuary and Ixchel Balam, for a conversation about what it takes to build a life on your own terms, and the spaces that make that possible. Rachel left behind so many careers and multiple lives when she moved to México. What she found on the other side was something she'd been reaching for all along: the freedom to step outside the white gaze and rediscover what she actually wants. In this episode, she and Crystle get honest about hypervisibility and invisibility at the same time, about the kind of underbelonging that lives outside the workplace, and about why rest and real life change, not just stress management, is the work in front of us. This is a conversation between two women building parallel ecosystems in the same city. Kinory is a global social dining community and belonging ecosystem for Black women. Black Woman Sanctuary is a place designed for restoration. Both rooted in the same belief: that Black women deserve spaces built for who we actually are. If you've been sitting on a dream, waiting for permission or proof, this one is for you. ----- I'm Crystle Johnson, founder of Kinory®️, a global social dining community and belonging ecosystem for Black women.
