Isolation, alienation and despair have pushed so many to seek comfort and assign blame in misguided directions. Finding kinship and learning to listen to the human and more than human world we have forgotten we are inextricably linked to, may lead us back to ways of being that are healing, nourishing, and regenerative. Can we learn to love the earth, each other and ourselves enough to treasure the gifts and offerings in each present moment and live in awe and appreciation before it is too late? This is the call to action I feel compelled to answer and the reminder of the sacred I receive from Emergence. To the entire team and the contributing community that shines a light on a better way, thank you for restoring the awe and appreciation, the curiosity and wonder, without ignoring or sugarcoating the pain and loss. And to the other listeners, we are not as alone and powerless as we sometimes feel. The seeds of radical change are planted. Prepare to sprout.

Thank you, Emanuel, for this soulful podcast. It speaks to another part in us that has atrophied severely since the industrial capitalist system has taken charge of our world. It feeds this part and reminds us to stay human kind.

If you can’t get enough NPR, this one is for you. For the rest of us, I’d say skip it: little substance, even fewer facts, plenty of adjectives, and a huge dose of neoliberal politics at every corner. The podcast seems to think it’s helping its causes but I suspect it is doing exactly the opposite. It’s also extremely dated. The world has changed and is changing, and this sort of bland and smug posturing isn’t helping or convincing anyone.

Six months in and not a single story, writer, perspective, literally word about Gaza? I’m sorry, is the pace with which over thirty-thousand people being slaughtered and 1.4 million being forcibly starved on a live feed too fast for your magazine/podcast’s “ethics of ‘slow consumption”’?
