Idaho matters is a great podcast to learn about all the things going in the community. It covers local news, health matters in the state, local authors, organizations and so much more. I genuinely enjoy listen everyday.

I came across this podcast searching for local reporting on the tragic college murders, and I have stayed to listen to other Idaho news stories because I am impressed by Gemma Gaudette. She is thoughtful, insightful and knowledgeable and has a great speaking voice. The reporting is factual without sensation and has been respectful of the victims.

Very well produced. Asks great questions. Stays pretty focused on the Southern Idaho cities. Occasionally mentions CdA, but usually in less than affectionate tones. Would be great to hear from some small town reporters during or from some of the Northern area reporters during their Reporter Roundtable.

Host, Gemma Gaudette and Producer, Frankie Barnhill offer quality content on news from across the state that would otherwise be overlooked, especially by commercial stations. Idaho Matters brings stories to light that uplift, engage and truly highlight individuals that make our state special. I look forward to learning each day via Idaho Matters to feel more connected to my community. Keep up the excellent work!

Great source of information for goings on around the greater Boise and Treasure valley area. I think Gemma does a great job discussing some things. I also see a missed opportunity. Occasionally there are politicians on the show, politicians speaking about divides in our culture who actually contributed to those divides for many many years. While Gemma does a good job at discussions, there’s a lot of softballs thrown and nothing to make guests hit on some real truth. I get that she wants to maintain an open door and not burn bridges, but I also see opportunity. IMO.

Occasionally there are some interesting local stories here. I prefer more even political reporting. Gemma is often dismissive of points of views she does not agree with.
