The Daily Stoic

This would be fantastic stripped down, but as is the constant distraction of stock music is very difficult for someone with ADD. There is driving, super stock-y and repetitive music under EVERYTHING. The result is an overall sense of anxiety. Also it aounds like it's edited (AI) to reduce pauses, which makes for difficult listening for more than a few minutes. It's a shame when a great show like this bows to the algorithm / cheesey hook techniques instead of having its own natural flow.

Ryan does such a great job of bringing and applying stoic principles to modern times, I have a hard time understanding why he brings on guests just to dive into party politics…. Degrades the value of his show!

A Stoic philosopher—especially Epictetus—would probably say: fast-forward through the bleeping ads. Stoicism isn’t about deliberately enduring every minor annoyance. It’s about directing your attention and energy toward things that are worthwhile and not allowing trivial irritations to disturb you.

As others have said- I feel baited into listening to the podcast and the first few times realized it was one big ad for one thing or another. I just go to the transcript and skip to the actual show and even that is annoying all that work for 2 min of show. Not worth the effort. Deleting from my list of podcasts.
