Today Emily discusses the advice that students are also given at school regarding their internships, which is to “be proactive.” Emily talks about how this MUST also include “asking before doing.” Here you will learn the benefits of mastering each task at you go to understand your industry, while hearing real world examples of why being “proactive” can not only go awry, but actually cause you to lose your internship. You will also learn how timing in asking for help and advice is key, as well as how what you glean observing the professional environment is almost more important than the tasks you are given.
