    Too Opinionated Interview: Zara Phillips

    As she celebrates the release of her extraordinary autobiographical film Somebody’s Daughter, Zara Phillips offers up some tough love truths that fly in the face of the often cheery, sanitized way adopted children (and other beings) are depicted in Disney films and other media. From her years of advocacy,studying contemporary sociological research and personal experiences as an adopted person herself, the passionate lifelong advocate for adoptees knows that even well into adulthood, their existential struggles of feeling like outsiders with little known stories of their history and birth parents makes them at least four times more likely to attempt suicide. They are also much more inclined to turn to addiction as a coping mechanism, as Zara did in her teens and early 20s. Somebody’s Daughter - and the 2018 book and 2022 one-woman show the film is based on – focusses on Zara’s personal journey of overcoming early addiction, navigating her life and meeting her birth father after many years and struggles after connecting with her birth mother. The project’s true driving force is tofacilitate honest, vulnerable conversations about adoption. In addition to acting and writing, Zara is also a talented singer and songwriter who launched her career in the 80s, appearing in music videos and providing backing vocals on tour with Bob Geldof, Matt Bianco, David Essex and Nick Kamen.  In 2014, Zara’s one woman show Beneath My Father’s Sky, directed by Eliza and Eric Roberts won Best Direction at NYC’s United Solo Festival and was performed in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Connecticut and London in 2016. During this era, she was presented with an Angel in Adoption Award by the Congressional Coalition of Adoption Institute.     Too Opinionated Interview: Millan Tesdazgi

    Actress Millan Tesfazgi celebrates her role as Sasha in the three-part series inspired by Mary J. Blige’s No. 1 hit, Family Affair. Executive produced by Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair is the third instalment of the series that began with 2023’s Mary J. Blige’s Real Love, followed by Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman. Millan’s character, Sasha, transitions from a young, wild mom into a mature young woman who embodies compassion for her sister Kendra and those around her. Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair airs on Lifetime on January 25, 2025. Parts 1 and 2 of "Real Love" and "Strength of a Woman" will also be airing in the lead-up to the premiere of "Family Affair" on that date.  Millan also joins the cast as Jasmine in episode 10 of CBC’s hit series “Wild Cards,” airing on March 12, 2025.  Jasmine is a former New York party girl and a cast member on a popular reality show. Although she appears happily married, she is madly in love with another female cast member and is desperate to keep the affair under wraps. One of the stand-out roles Millan is incredibly proud of is Cami on Freeform’s TV series "Siren."  "Siren" takes us inside Bristol Cove, a coastal town renowned for its legend of once being home to mermaids. However, Skyler is shaken when Amelia, who wishes to exit both the trip and the influencer world, turns up dead. Despite the situation, Skyler is adamant that she isn’t responsible.     Too Opinionated Interview: Gwendolyn Osborne

    Gwendolyn Osborne is a British actress and former model who spent 12 years on The Price Is Right from 2005 to 2017. Osborne was recognized as one of the "longest-running woman of color on a daytime game show". Gwendolyn had a role as an Elite Amazonian in the film Wonder Woman 1984, directed by Patty Jenkins. Other movie and films include, Jack and Jill with Adam Sandler, and Any Given Sunday. Osborne had roles on several daytime soap operas which include, General Hospital, The Bold And The Beautiful, and The Young And The Restless. She has played Misandra on the Bouncetv series In the Cut. She also played Jade Dominquez for two seasons of Ocean Ave. In 2023, Osborne had a role in Grown-ish and played Juliette. Osborne starred and produced a reality series based on her life, Meet the Smiths, on TBS. Currently Gwendolyn recurs as therapist ‘Dr. Mikayla Cabrera’ on the BET+ show All the Queen’s Men. Additionally, Gwendolyn is a board member of She Is Hope LA – a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering single mothers and their families by providing essential resources, education, and support.     Too Opinionated Interview: Elizabeth Saunders

    Today on Too Opinionated we sit down with actress Elizabeth Saunders! Born in England and raised in Calgary, Elizabeth Saunders now lives and works out of Toronto. A highly versatile actress, she is known for her work on Clarice (2021), Surrealestate (2021), Girl (2020), Mary Kills People (2020) When Hope Calls (2019) IT (2017), Alias Grace (2017), Orphan Black (2013), Slings and Arrows (2005), The Boondock Saints (1999) and Nurse.Fighter.Boy (2008). She also voiced and performed the mo-cap for the role of Emma Child in Ubisoft's Watchdog's Legion (2020). Her voice work includes voicing Mrs. Turtle on the long-running Franklin the Turtle cartoon series. Liz has also appeared in leading roles in theatre productions throughout Canada as well as being a theatre director, teacher and writer, who holds a BFA in acting and an MA in Theatre Performance and Drama.
